About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor based in Headington, offering a confidential and supportive space for psychological exploration and emotional processing. My approach is integrative and relational, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives while placing particular emphasis on the quality of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for change.

I work collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences at emotional, cognitive, relational, and embodied levels. My practice is informed by attachment theory, relational psychotherapy, and a humanistic understanding of the importance of being seen, heard, and understood. I aim to provide a space where clients can reflect on their patterns of relating to themselves and others, and where new ways of experiencing and understanding can emerge.

Clients come to therapy for many different reasons, including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relationship difficulties, identity-related concerns, experiences of shame, bereavement, and life transitions such as separation or divorce. I support clients in making sense of these experiences, developing greater self-awareness, and working through emotional difficulties at a pace that feels manageable.

Alongside talking therapy, I am attentive to the body and the subtle ways emotional experience is held and expressed. This can support a deeper level of awareness and integration, particularly where experiences may be difficult to put into words.

Practice description

The integrative approach involves attending to both present-moment experience and underlying patterns shaped by past relationships and beliefs. We may explore how early experiences inform current ways of relating, while also working in the here-and-now to increase emotional awareness, regulation, and self-understanding. This process can help identify and shift internalised narratives, unconscious assumptions, and habitual responses that may be limiting growth or contributing to distress.

I aim to provide a consistent, non-judgmental, and attuned therapeutic relationship that supports the development of insight, resilience, and psychological integration. The work may include exploring core beliefs, attachment patterns, somatic awareness, and emotional processing, depending on what emerges in the therapeutic space.

My first session

The initial session lasts 50 minutes and is a chance to meet and ask questions, discuss the specific problems, difficulties which you are facing.

Both short term or ongoing in-depth therapy would be considered depending on your needs. Normally I would suggest an initial 6 sessions which would be reviewed.
