About me and my therapy practice
I am friendly, practical, down to earth and creative. I can help you with things that feel unmanageable or overwhelming by discovering unhelpful and unwanted responses to triggers so you can free yourself from these old patterns of behaviours.
I will do a lot of listening and not telling because I believe you are the expert on you! I will ask questions so I can get a deep understanding of you, your experiences, and your concerns, so that together we will uncover the beliefs you hold about yourself and others and how these make you feel and impact your life.
About me
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I provide on-line counselling offering a warm welcome and a confidential and accepting space where you can feel safe sharing your difficult experiences and concerns without feeling judged. I focus on building a trusting relationship so we can work together in partnership. I will be led by you to support you in your counselling goals.
Practice description
What I can help with
I work with people 18 and over. I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma, addiction, grief, loss, life changes, low self-esteem, OCD, addiction, neurodiversity, work-related issues and more! I have a particular focus on working with anxiety.
How I work
Now for the science bit! My practice is based in psychodynamic therapy which explores the roots of our beliefs about ourselves and others and seeks to find insight and clarity about how this can continue to influence our lives now. I work from an integrative approach (following Clarkson’s relational approach if you are interested!) which means that I may draw from various theories and approaches in our work together, including person-centred theory, transactional analysis, and psychoeducation to best suit your wants and needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified integrative relational psychodynamic therapist with a CPCAB Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ÌÇÐĹÙÍø) and adhere to their Ethical Framework, as well as to UK GDPR confidentiality and data protection policy. I am fully insured.
My first session
I offer online (Zoom) sessions between 9.30am to 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays. You will need a computer or tablet, a stable wifi connection and private space where you can speak openly. Sessions cost £55 for 50 mins, paid in advance through BACS.
Before we start
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call for us to get to know each other and so you can decide if we are a good fit.
First session
In the first session, I will ask some questions to get some background information so that we can decide how we work together and your goals for therapy.
Future sessions
I will be guided by you and what you want to cover. I will check in with you about how we are doing, what works, what doesn't and whether your goals develop and change as we work together.
