About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor and an accredited member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø. I ran my own business for over 20 years so I can fully appreciate how difficult it can be to manage work related stresses and every day life situations . I am also an IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) and as I worked for a domestic abuse charity for some years I have seen first hand the effects of domestic abuse and the huge difference that counselling support can make in helping people to rebuild their lives, restore their self confidence and acheive true autonomy.
Practice description
I offer remote sessions via Teams throughout the UK and face to face sessions in my practice in Yorkshire. As each of my clients is unique I take time to create an individual therapy plan incorporating several different models to address their concerns. I use methods that enable them to access their subconscious and in doing so increase their self awareness and identify any patterns of behaviour that they may like to change. Together we also develop coping strategies that will ensure that they feel fully supported as we work towards their therapeutic goals.
My first session
Asking for help can often be the biggest challenge and so I offer a free consultation call with no obligation to ensure that any potential clients have a thorough understanding of what therapy might look like and more importantly the opportunity to ask questions to ensure that they feel safe and supported from the very start.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor and an accredited member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø. I ran my own business for over twenty years and so I can fully appreciate how work related stresses can make it seem impossible to achieve a healthy, balanced life. I have worked with adults in a variety of placements and I have also worked in a residential setting with young people experiencing complex mental health issues. Following on from this I completed additional training to work with children aged 11 years and over as I feel very strongly that there is a real lack of support for children and young people’s mental health and I believe that the right support can really make a difference. I worked for a domestic abuse charity for several years as an IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) supporting people who have suffered domestic abuse in many different ways and with therapeutic support I saw how victims could restore their self belief, rebuild their self confidence and work towards achieving new goals.
Practice description
As each of my clients is unique, I like to spend time creating an individual therapy plan that will address their concerns and in doing so increase their self awareness. I include several different models in my therapy plans and I often use creative methods to enable my clients, especially children and young people, to access their subconscious while feeling fully supported and in a safe space. I fully appreciate that making the decision to engage in therapy and to openly share your feelings and experiences, possibly for the first time, can be a daunting experience and I am truly grateful for the trust that my clients place in me by allowing me to join them on their journey of self development.
My first session
I appreciate that asking for help is often the biggest challenge and a big step to take. Therefore, prior to scheduling any sessions I offer a free telephone consultation with no obligation to ensure that potential clients have a thorough understanding of the therapeutic process and the opportunity to ask any questions and get a true sense of how our work together would feel as I firmly believe that trust really does form the foundation of every therapeutic relationship.
