As a Person-Centred, experiential therapist, I believe that building a consistent, committed therapeutic relationship is key to deep personal growth. We will work at your pace, tailoring the frequency and focus of our sessions to what feels right for you.
About me and my therapy practice
I believe you are the ultimate expert on your own life. I am not here to fix you, nor do I just passively listen—I get right alongside you. My approach is down-to-earth, creative, and holistic. Understanding what it is like to navigate dark, isolating places, I have learned from my own life experiences to transform adversity into resilience. I do not shy away from the heavy stuff.
How We Will Work Together
As a Person-Centred Experiential therapist, I offer a collaborative space where your autonomy is entirely honoured. We work as equals, exploring whatever you experience in the present moment. I integrate talk therapy with somatic, body-focused awareness to honour your whole self—mind and body. Together, we gently tune into your emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations.
I work at a pace that feels safe for you while offering gentle challenges to help you look more deeply.
This awareness allows us to safely unravel old patterns, process trauma, and gain profound clarity.
My Background & Experience
My resilience was forged during years working in Category B prisons, helping individuals confront complex challenges related to trauma and addiction.
Witnessing therapy's transformative power in intense environments proved that no matter how stuck you feel, change is possible. Like the turning tide here on the St Leonards coast, we can move through rough waters and find calm.
In private practice, I bring this deep empathy to help individuals navigate:
Anxiety, stress, and depression
Addiction and recovery
Trauma and abuse
Grief, loss, and life transitions
Professional Standards
Registered Member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø (MÌÇÐĹÙÍø): Working strictly within their Ethical Framework.
Qualifications: Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling | BSc (Hons) in Sociology and Criminology.
Fully Insured.
Practice description
Welcome to Serenity Lane Therapies, a confidential, down-to-earth space. Having honed my skills in challenging environments, I know genuine healing requires both empathy and practical support. I will help you safely navigate trauma, anxiety, and stress at your own pace.
How I Work with Person-Centred Therapy (PCT)
I trust your capacity to heal. I do not act as a clinical "expert" who diagnoses you; instead, we work as equals. My practice is rooted in:
Unconditional Positive Regard: Bring your heaviest truths without fear of judgment.
Deep Empathy: I listen closely to understand the world from your perspective.
Congruence: I show up as a real, transparent human being.
By prioritising your autonomy and pace, this compassionate framework creates the ultimate psychological safety net. It allows you to let your guard down, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and grow into the person you want to be.
Fees (50-minute sessions)
Online: £45 (via secure video platform).
In-Person: £55 (at The Humble Heart in St Leonards-on-Sea).
Beyond Traditional Talk Therapy
When you are exhausted by chronic anxiety, talking alone isn't always enough. I integrate creative expression with talk therapy to help you tap into your subconscious, process heavy emotions, and build effective coping strategies.
Specialist Service: The Creative-NADA Journey
To soothe a burnt-out nervous system, I offer a unique 5-session 1:1 journey blending Person-Centred Creative Therapy with the physical, calming power of NADA Ear Acupuncture:
Sympathetic Point: Downshifting fight-or-flight responses.
Shen Men: Calming internal anxiety and racing thoughts.
Organ Points (Kidney, Liver, Lung): Releasing deeply held fears, anger, and grief.

My first session
What to Expect From Our First Session
Finding the right therapist is about feeling comfortable and understood. I invite you to start with an informal, no-pressure initial consultation to see if my personality and approach align with what you are looking for.
Your Choice of Consultation:
Online Consultation (Free / 20 minutes): A gentle, accessible way to connect from your own space, explore what brings you to therapy, and see if we connect well.
In-Person Consultation (£25 / 40 minutes): Held at The Humble Heart in St Leonards-on-Sea, giving you a physical sense of the therapeutic space.
The Process:
Before We Meet: Once you get in touch, I will send you a brief client questionnaire. This helps me understand your needs and gives us a starting framework.
During the Consultation: We will review your questionnaire together, discuss our therapeutic agreement, and you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Feel free to ask questions about what therapy involves or any topics you're unsure about.
After the Consultation: There's no rush to decide immediately. I encourage you to take your time to reflect and feel confident about your next steps.
If you decide to move forward with full sessions, we can then book your first 50-minute slot (£45 online / £55 in person).

About me and my therapy practice
About Me & My Therapy Practice
I am a qualified Person-Centred Experiential therapist, and a meaningful focus of my practice is supporting trainee counsellors. I remember well the unique rewards, pressures, and personal growth that come with navigating a counselling diploma or degree, and I bring that understanding into our work together.
I see personal therapy during training as a multi-layered space. It is a safe harbour to process your own life experiences, with clear confidentiality and boundaries to ensure your privacy and professionalism, a place to offload the demands of your clinical placement, and a living classroom where you can experience the Person-Centred core conditions first hand as a client.
Supporting Your Course Requirements:
Because I know how important the practical side of training is, I am happy to collaborate with you to ensure your course boxes are ticked:
Documentation & Logs:
While I work with trainees individually, I am fully prepared to support you with your portfolio needs. I am happy to complete initial therapy contracts, sign your hours/attendance logs, and provide confirmation letters as required by your provider.
Professional Standing: I am a registered member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø, fully insured, and engage in regular clinical supervision, which are standard prerequisites for most training providers (such as CPCAB or university courses).
A Shared Modality: If you are training in Person-Centred or Humanistic approaches, our sessions offer a space to experience the theory in action, helping you see how a congruent, accepting relationship functions in practice.
Whether your course requires a specific minimum number of personal therapy hours or open-ended support as you head toward final case studies, we can review your course handbook together and adapt our contract to suit your needs.
My goal is to offer a collaborative, transparent space where we can focus on your personal development while cleanly meeting the practical demands of your training.
Practice description
Practice Description
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and perhaps even more so when you are a trainee counsellor. You might feel pressure to "know the answers" or worry about being evaluated. In my practice, you can leave the "trainee" hat at the door. First and foremost, you are a human being who deserves a safe, confidential space to be completely yourself.
What to Expect from Me
My practice is firmly grounded in Person-Centred Experiential therapy. This means I do not act as an expert who is here to analyse or diagnose you. Instead, you can expect:
Genuine Warmth and Acceptance: A space where no topic is too messy, confusing, or taboo. You can safely explore your personal history, blind spots, or the emotional echoes that arise from your clinical placements.
A Collaborator, Not a Lecturer: We work entirely at your pace. I am alongside you, helping you unpack your experiences without imposing an agenda.
Congruence and Safety: You will experience a transparent, authentic relationship where you don't have to filter your thoughts or pretend you are coping perfectly with the intense demands of your course.
How We Will Work Together
Our first session is an opportunity to see how we click. We will look at what you want from therapy, alongside any specific practical requirements your training provider asks for.
Because I practice the very modality you are studying, our work will naturally double as a supportive, real-world reflection of Person-Centred theory.
You will experience how the core conditions feel from the client’s perspective, which can beautifully enrich your own emerging practice.
Whether you need short-term, focused support to complete a mandatory block of hours, or a longer-term, open-ended space to carry you through to graduation, my practice is a steady place for you to land.
My first session
First Session Details
Finding the right therapeutic fit is essential, which is why I like to start with a collaborative, pressure-free introduction.
Our First Step: A Free 20-Minute Consultation (Online)
I offer a free, initial 20-minute online consultation. This is a gentle, informal opportunity for us to meet, discuss what is bringing you to therapy, and see how we click. There is no obligation to book further sessions.
Investment & Formats:
If we decide to work together, my standard trainee concession rates are:
Online Sessions: £38 per 50-minute session.
In-Person Sessions: £40 per 50-minute session (held at Humble Heart, St Leonards).
What We Will Focus On:
During our first official session, we will establish a clear foundation for our work together. For trainee counsellors, this involves looking at two key areas:
Your Personal Goals: Exploring what you need from the space personally, and how I can best support your well-being as you navigate your studies and clinical placement.
Your Course Requirements: We will look at your training provider's specific criteria. We will map out your required therapy hours, review your portfolio guidelines, and discuss the specific paperwork, contracts, or attendance logs you will need me to sign off on as we go along.
You don't need to have everything figured out before we meet. If you have a copy of your course handbook's therapy requirements, we can look through it together to ensure all your practical boxes are neatly ticked from day one.
