About me and my therapy practice

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change?

Many of the men I work with come to counselling carrying a great deal on their shoulders. Work pressures, anxiety, relationship difficulties, low confidence, stress, or unhealthy coping patterns can gradually leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and unsure of the direction you're heading.

I've been there myself, and I know that change is possible with the right support.

For many years, I experienced the pressures and expectations that can lead to stress, self-doubt, burnout, and unhealthy ways of coping. Through my own journey, I discovered the importance of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and having a safe space to explore what was really going on beneath the surface.

That experience led me to train as a counsellor and continues to inform the way I work today.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and supporting you in finding your own way forward.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, work-related pressures, addictive behaviours, or simply feeling stuck, counselling can provide the space you need to make sense of what is happening and begin moving towards positive change.

Taking the first step is often the hardest part. From here, however, you do not have to do things alone.

If you would like to explore whether counselling might be right for you, please get in touch to arrange a free 15-minute confidential call.

Practice description

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor offering online counselling throughout the UK and face-to-face counselling in Matlock, Derbyshire.

I work primarily with men experiencing:

Anxiety and stress

Work-related pressures and burnout

Low self-esteem and confidence

Relationship difficulties

Life transitions and change

Feeling stuck or lacking direction

Addiction and unhealthy coping patterns

Many of the men I work with are doing their best to cope but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, or trapped in patterns that are no longer serving them.

Counselling offers an opportunity to slow down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself in a safe and supportive environment.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I believe that lasting change begins when we are able to understand and accept ourselves more fully. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you as you explore your experiences and find your own way forward.

Together, we can help you move towards a way of living that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.

My first session

Beginning counselling can feel daunting, especially if you've never spoken to a counsellor before.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to counselling.

I will explain how I work as a Person-Centred Counsellor, discuss confidentiality and its limits, and answer any questions you may have about the counselling process.

From there, you can talk about whatever feels important to you, at a pace that feels comfortable.

You don't need to have everything figured out before attending counselling. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, work pressures, low confidence, addictive behaviours, or simply feel that life isn't working as well as you would like, our first session provides a safe place to begin exploring what is happening for you.

At the end of the session, we will reflect on how it felt and discuss whether we would like to continue working together.

There is no pressure and no expectation. The first session is simply the beginning of a conversation.
