About me and my therapy practice
As a relational integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I draw from a range of humanistic approaches, placing the therapeutic relationship at the centre of my work. As each client is unique, so is the relationship we co-create. I have felt deeply touched by my clients' presence and stories. In a world that can often feel uncertain and fast paced, genuine human connection can be deeply healing.
I have substantial training in working with anxiety and trauma. I also have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD and autism, whether they have received a diagnosis or are beginning to wonder if these experiences resonate with them. Together we can explore how neurodivergence may shape your sense of identity and relationships, as well as strengths and struggles it may bring.
I am committed to offering you empathy and compassion as I walk alongside you in the process of navigating life. We often need ‘a mirror’ that can reflect certain aspects of our lives that may be hidden. Together we will explore what obstacles might be standing in your way, whether they are fears, someone else's voice, shame, cultural conditioning, outdated beliefs and defence mechanisms that were once protective but now feel limiting. We may also explore old pain that you ‘put on a shelf’ years ago because it felt too overwhelming to face at the time. Sometimes, particularly when it comes to grief and bereavement, therapy can be like a campfire where you can come to warm yourself and share your story. It can also be a place to pause and reflect on life's existential questions.
Alongside cognitive exploration, I incorporate creative and body based approaches where they feel helpful. I believe in the wholeness of each person, in the unity of mind, body and spirit. Therapy, as I see it, is much more than making sense of events intellectually, it is also about exploring how your body and your soul hold and experience your story.
Practice description
I offer culturally sensitive therapy and welcome people from all backgrounds, including those from LGBTQ+ and global majority communities. I recognise how culture, race, gender, sexuality and class influence how we see ourselves, relate to others and find our place in the world.
I trained at the University of the West of England, Bristol, and hold a Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Three main modalities I trained in, as part of my Masters Degree, are: Gestalt, Person Centred Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. I am a member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø and adhere to their ethical framework and professional standards.
In addition to my counselling degree, I hold a Level 4 counselling certificate in Person Centred and Psychodynamic Skills (University of the West of England).
I have completed various training courses such as:
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/ tapping)
Focusing
Polyvagal theory
ACT therapy
Introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Psychosynthesis
CBT for anxiety
Various trauma training, including Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT), developmental trauma, sexual abuse, CSA, DV, gendered violence.
I worked with the Women and Girls Network (WGN) charity in London for two years as a specialist trauma counsellor, supporting women and girls affected by sexual and gender-based violence. I also volunteered at Cotswold Counselling charity in Cirencester for three years and have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, across social class, sexuality, disability, age, race and nationality.
My background is in education and social care (Children's Services), including working with children who have special needs and parents who care for a child with disability. I originally trained as a SEN teacher in Poland, obtaining my teaching degree in 2006.
