I am available for face-to-face sessions with children, young people and young adults from 4.15pm on Monday and Wednesday in Longfield, Kent DA3.

I also offer online or telephone sessions for young people of secondary school age until age 25 on other weekday evenings from 5pm and have limited availability on Saturday mornings.

I mostly work term time only.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred counsellor working with children, young people, and young adults.

I offer a warm, safe, and confidential space where your child or young person can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. My approach is client-led, which means I follow their needs and preferences. I often use creative methods such as art and play to help younger clients express themselves, especially when talking feels difficult. For those who prefer, I also offer a more traditional talking approach.

I understand that as a parent or carer, it can be worrying when a young person is struggling. I work with care and sensitivity to build a trusting relationship, helping them to make sense of their experiences, develop self-understanding, and feel more confident in managing life’s challenges.

I have experience supporting children and young people with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, school avoidance, neurodivergence, attachment difficulties, trauma, bereavement, self-harm, and challenges in friendships and family relationships.

Alongside my counselling work, I have 18 years’ experience working in schools in supportive and therapeutic roles with children and families. I am trained as a Thrive Practitioner and in Drawing and Talking therapy, and I have a good understanding of the SEND and EHCP systems in Kent.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, undertake regular safeguarding training, and am paediatric First Aid trained.

Practice description

I work from a confidential room within a local primary school outside of school hours. Here, I offer a range of creative materials, games, and sand play, providing a safe and welcoming space for children and young people to express themselves in ways that feel comfortable to them.

I also offer online and telephone sessions for young people and young adults from secondary school age and above.

I recognise the important role parents and carers play in a young person’s life. While sessions are confidential to help build trust, I aim to work collaboratively with you where appropriate. This may include sharing general themes, offering support or guidance, and providing space for you to feel heard too. For children, I can offer parent review sessions where appropriate, always discussed in advance and with the knowledge and consent of the child or young person.

My first session

If you feel I may be a good fit for your child or young person, you are very welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation. I can offer a free 20 minute phone call. This is an opportunity to ask any questions and consider whether counselling feels like the right step for you both.
