Many people see therapy as a luxury, but it’s an important part of looking after your wellbeing. Just as you might invest in your physical health, therapy is an investment in your emotional and mental health — something that supports every part of your life.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Rachael — a counsellor who supports adults who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stretched too thin.
Life can move so fast that you barely have time to breathe, let alone make sense of how you’re feeling. You might be juggling work, family, caring responsibilities, shift patterns, or simply trying to get through each day. At some point, something inside you whispers that things don’t feel quite right anymore.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
I offer calm, grounded support during the day — a space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on you, understand what you need, and find a way forward that feels steady and true to you.
I work in the quieter part of the morning, with three appointment times available: 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00. This can suit parents after school drop‑off, shift workers, people working from home, or anyone who finds daytime support easier to access.
Practice description
I have years of experience working within mental health charities, supporting adults facing challenges such as:
trauma and PTSD
anxiety and overwhelm
depression and low mood
burnout and stress
self‑harm and suicidal thoughts
abuse, rape and sexual violence
bereavement and loss
low self‑esteem and identity struggles
I work in an integrative, person‑centred way, tailoring therapy to your needs rather than following a one‑size‑fits‑all approach. I won’t tell you what to do or push you in a direction that doesn’t feel right. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you — helping you make sense of what you’re carrying, understand yourself more deeply, and uncover the strengths and answers you already hold.
My first session
I offer a free 15‑minute telephone consultation so we can get to know each other, explore what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit.
Your first full session builds on that initial conversation. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and what you need in order to feel safe and supported. From there, we’ll begin shaping a way of working that feels manageable, steady, and right for you.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Loss, Mood disorder, Post-traumatic stress, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
