About me and my therapy practice
ÌÇÐĹÙÍø
Sometimes life leaves us carrying feelings that are hard to understand or hard to carry alone. At times of difficulty or uncertainty it can be helpful to speak to someone who will listen with empathy.
I offer a non-judgmental space where you will be listened to with understanding. Together we can explore what is happening in your life and whether past experiences have contributed to how you are feeling and how they maybe impacting you.
I can help you to explore the roots of your difficulties to gain a deeper understanding of yourself. This can help you to make sense of your feelings and help you to make changes in your life.
I trained at the University of Oxford where I completed a Masters in Psychodynamic Practice with Distinction.
I am an accredited registered member of the UKCP and a registered member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø. I practice within the ethical framework and good practice guidelines of these organisations. I attend regular supervision and continual professional development to enhance my clinical practice.
I have experience working as a psychodynamic therapist in private practice and for a charity counselling service.
My work includes but is not limited to working with issues concerning Abuse, Addiction, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Health related issues, Loss, Neurodiversity, Redundancy, Relationship Issues, Self-esteem, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues.
I have a special interest in working with people who have been affected by addiction within close relationships. I offer a space where feelings can be spoken about openly and held with care.
In addition, I have a special interest in working with twin relationships. If you are a twin, or your life has been shaped by a twin relationship you may recognise the unique emotional bonds and challenges that can arise. Similarly, if you are a lone twin you may be feeling the unique loss of such a bereavement. I can offer a space to explore how your twin relationship has shaped you, your relationships and your sense of self.
Practice description
I work with individual adults (18+) and offer both open-ended and short term therapy, which can be in person or online.
Sessions are held on the same day and time each week, which provides a regular and reliable space for us to work together.
My clinical practice is situated in a self-contained, private, and confidential setting to the south of Wokingham.
Free, unrestricted roadside parking is available.
Apart from one step, there is level access to the therapy room.
My first session
It can feel hard to know where to start. You may be thinking about therapy for the first time, or had some therapy in the past. You may have questions and concerns about beginning therapy, so the next step would be for us to have a brief confidential telephone conversation to think about what might feel right for you. You can contact me either by telephone or email and we can arrange a convenient time for to talk. Please also visit my website for more information.
If after our telephone conversation, you feel you would like to explore things further, we can meet for an initial 50 minute consultation. This gives us the opportunity to meet each other, for you to ask questions and for me to understand how I can help you. We would discuss together if continuing to ongoing therapy is something you would find helpful.
