About me and my therapy practice
My name is Rosella. I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ÌÇÐĹÙÍø), working in accordance with their Ethical Framework.
Seeking therapy may reflect feelings of anxiety, confusion, loss, burnout, or inadequacy. Each of us has a unique story, and I would be honoured to listen to yours. Therapy offers an opportunity to reshape how you think, feel, and act.
My theoretical approach, based on the Relational Integrative Model, blends different therapeutic modalities according to your needs. I prioritise building an authentic, trusting connection, which I believe is essential for healing. We may explore how childhood and past experiences influence your present thoughts, behaviours and relationships. My aim is to foster self-awareness and self-compassion, empowering you to break negative patterns and move forward.
My experience includes working with adults, primary school children, teenagers, couples, and families in various settings, including organisations such as the Sutton Women’s Centre, where I supported women experiencing domestic abuse, and Place2Be, a national charity providing mental health support in schools. I have worked with individuals facing challenges, including anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, panic attacks, difficulties managing anger, self-harm, relationship difficulties, grief, loss, low self-confidence, and low self-esteem, among others.
Alongside my counselling work, I bring insight from a previous career in corporate travel, during which I lived and worked internationally. This has given me a strong understanding of workplace stress, burnout, and anxiety, as well as the emotional impact of navigating different cultures, identity, and belonging.
As a former volleyball player and passionate swimmer, I embrace an active, healthy lifestyle. I believe exercise builds self-confidence, resilience, and a strong mind-body connection, inspiring my holistic approach to well-being.
Practice description
I provide individual counselling for adults, children, and teenagers, as well as couples counselling and support for families through parent–adolescent and parent–adult child therapy, offering both short- and long-term guidance to help navigate challenges and build stronger relationships.
For children, I integrate play therapy, a powerful tool that helps them express emotions and experiences in a natural, non-verbal way.
For couples, I take a more structured approach, helping partners develop healthier ways of communicating, understand recurring relationship patterns and build practical skills to navigate conflict. Together, we work towards greater understanding, a stronger connection and, where needed, rebuilding trust within the relationship.
My goal is to create a warm, compassionate, and confidential space free of judgment, where you can embark on your therapeutic journey. Together, we navigate and explore your experiences and emotions at a pace that feels comfortable to you, deepening your self-awareness and understanding of relationships for personal growth and empowerment. I recognise that you are the expert of your own being, and with the right conditions and environment, you have the ability to flourish and reach your full potential -opening the door to a more authentic, meaningful, and creative life.
My first session
In our first session, we have the opportunity to get to know each other and discuss your concerns. We will explore what you aim to achieve through therapy, strategising how to reach your goals collaboratively. This serves as a chance to determine if we are a good therapeutic "fit" for each other, assessing the strength of our connection.
Additionally, we will explore the potential impact of therapy on your well-being, crafting a working agreement to align our expectations and addressing any questions you may have.
Establishing trust is crucial in our therapeutic relationship, making this introductory session an important foundation for our work together.
