About me and my therapy practice

Hello,

My name is Ineta Kokorisa, and I am a Gestalt Therapist (MÌÇÐĹÙÍø), offering weekly in-person and online therapy sessions.

Having experienced the transformative power of therapy in my own life, I am deeply passionate about supporting others in their journey of healing, self-discovery, and reconnecting with a sense of joy and meaning.

Life can at times feel overwhelming and may leave us feeling anxious, low, stuck or disconnected. Many of the people I work with come to therapy experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges or a general sense of not feeling like themselves. Together, we gently explore these experiences and work towards creating meaningful and lasting change.

As a Gestalt therapist, I offer a space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply, become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, patterns, and move towards living in a way that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

I am interested in you as a whole person — your experiences, your challenges, and your unique story. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can speak openly and explore whatever feels important to you at your own pace.

Our work together is collaborative. The therapy space is yours, and I will support you in exploring whatever you bring, with care, curiosity, and respect. Where appropriate, I may also integrate mindfulness-based approaches to support emotional awareness and regulation.

You do not have to go through things alone.

Practice description

I am trained in Gestalt Therapy, an approach that focuses on the "here and now" — exploring your present-moment experience in relation to the challenges you bring to therapy.

While your current difficulties may be connected to past experiences, my role as a Gestalt therapist is to gently explore how these show up for you in the present. Together, we will bring awareness to your thoughts, feelings, and patterns as they unfold in the here and now.

In therapy, I support growth and deeper self-expression through body awareness, creative exploration, and where appropriate, mindfulness-based approaches. I offer an open and supportive space where you can reflect, explore, and experiment at your own pace. You will never be expected to talk about anything you are not ready to share.

Our work together aims to support greater self-understanding, self-acceptance, and the freedom to make choices that feel aligned with who you are. Some aspects of our experience can be changed, some can be accepted, and all can be understood. Therapy can be a meaningful process of discovery, helping you to become more aware and take responsibility for the choices you make in your life.

Through this increased awareness, it becomes possible to live more fully in the present and find a deeper sense of meaning within yourself and your life.

I offer therapy in person in Earl's Court, South Kensington and London Bridge, as well as online. Sessions are 50 minutes and can be either short-term or open-ended, depending on your needs.

I work in accordance with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework and I am committed to ongoing professional development and regular supervision, ensuring I can support you safely and effectively.

My first session

My first session

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel like a big decision, and it’s completely natural to have questions or feel unsure. If you are considering starting therapy, you are welcome to get in touch via text or email, and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have before arranging our first session.

The first session is slightly different from ongoing sessions, as it offers us an opportunity to meet, begin to get to know one another, and explore what has brought you to therapy at this time. It is also a space for you to ask any questions you may have and to get a sense of how I work.

During this session, I may gently ask about your current situation, your experiences, and what you would like support with. This helps me to understand your needs and consider how we might work together in a way that feels supportive and appropriate for you. There is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to talk about — you are always in control of the pace.

We will also explore what you hope to gain from therapy and discuss how we can work together moving forward, whether that is in a short-term or more open-ended way. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood from the very beginning.

I understand that finding the right therapist is important and can sometimes feel overwhelming. For this reason, I offer a complimentary 15-minute initial phone chat. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, talk briefly about what you are looking for, and most importantly, to get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit.

Feeling comfortable and supported in therapy is essential, and this initial contact can help you decide if you would like to take the next step.
