About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Emma. Many people come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious or emotionally exhausted. Reaching out for support can feel difficult, but you do not have to manage things alone.

I offer a warm, confidential and supportive space where you can speak openly about what is troubling you, at your own pace and without judgement. Life, relationships, work pressures and personal experiences can sometimes leave us feeling lost, disconnected or unsure how to move forward. Counselling offers an opportunity to pause, reflect and begin to make sense of your experiences.

I work compassionately and collaboratively, supporting you to explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns in a way that feels safe and manageable. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of what may be affecting you and find ways to support meaningful change.

I often work with clients experiencing anxiety, abuse, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and loss.

Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work I offer.

Practice description

I work using an integrative approach, drawing from different therapeutic models depending on your individual needs, experiences and goals. I recognise that every person is unique, and I tailor my approach accordingly.

Following our initial session, we can begin to explore what support may feel most helpful and how we might work together moving forward.

My first session

I understand that starting counselling can feel unfamiliar or daunting, and I aim to provide a calm and supportive space where you feel able to explore things safely.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin getting to know one another. We can gently explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope for, and any questions you may have.

There is no pressure to share everything straight away. Some people arrive with clarity, while others are still making sense of how they feel. Both are completely okay.

The first session also allows us to consider whether working together feels like the right fit for you.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel difficult, but support is available when you feel ready.

If you feel ready to begin counselling, I welcome you to get in touch.
