About me and my therapy practice

Hi and welcome. I’m Tetiana, an Integrative Counsellor specialising in working with Compulsive Sexual Behaviours / Sex Addiction and Couples. I am ADHD informed and have extensive experience supporting clients with ADHD traits and executive functioning difficulties. I work with:

• Individuals who feel overwhelmed, ashamed, or stuck in repetitive sexual behaviours that may be affecting their relationships, self-esteem, work, and life in general.

• Couples and partners struggling with relationship strain, communication and intimacy issues, infidelity, and the impact of compulsive sexual behaviours.

• Clients presenting with ADHD, autism, depression and anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, childhood trauma, bereavement and loss, LGBTQ+ issues, low self-esteem, historical physical and sexual abuse, relationship issues, PTSD, etc.

Why Sex Addiction? What brought me to this field?

In my early clinical work, I noticed that some clients used compulsive sexual behaviours as a coping strategy to manage stress, anxiety, anger, shame and other challenging emotions, unmet relational needs. This inspired me to study the deep, often misunderstood and mistreated nature of compulsive sexual behaviour and how best to support clients struggling with it.

One might argue whether it is addiction and how it can be treated. This isn't a medically recognised diagnosis but there is evidence how sex or porn use can feel ‘out of control’ and cause you difficulty. It could include masturbation, watching porn, engaging in cybersex, sleeping with strangers, visiting sex workers, etc.

I conduct an in-depth assessment that can help to answer those questions and provide a thorough understanding of what’s beneath the surface and whether it causes any detrimental effects to one’s life.

Areas I Can Help With

· Sex and pornography addiction

· Affairs and infidelity

· Relationship and intimacy difficulties

· Shame, guilt, and self-criticism

· Trauma and emotional regulation

· Self-worth and self-esteem.

Practice description

My Approach

My approach integrates, person-centred therapy (PCT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory and mindfulness practices to address the root causes of various issues. In addition, I use tools from Gestalt approach and Therapeutic Coaching whenever necessary as well as rewinding technique to help clients to process their intense emotions, especially it is effective in working with PTSD. I offer tailored, empathetic interventions that empower clients and help them to meet their unique needs.

Together, we work to identify unhealthy patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and foster self-awareness, enabling you to regain control over your life and relationships. With a compassionate, non-judgmental approach, I guide clients through a holistic process of healing that focuses on both emotional well-being and behavioural change.

As a member of ÌÇÐĹÙÍø and ATSAC, I am trained in and have experience in working with a diverse group of clients (11-89) presented with ADHD, autism, depression and anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, childhood trauma and PTSD, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, historic abuse, relationship issues, challenges of immigration, work-related issues, body image, shame, boundaries, attachment, BPD, etc. I have done this over a few years being in my private practice, working in a charity sector, providing short-term solution-focused counselling services to client's referred via employee's assistance programmes (EAP) and as a school counsellor.

My standard fees are £60 per session, I can provide concession fees and we can make arrangements depending on your financial circumstances.

My first session

If you are interested in us working together, send me a text message or email to arrange a 20-minute free phone call to have a better understanding whether we are the ‘right match’ and can work together before making any further commitments.

The following sessions are 50 min long and can be extended to one and a half session and subject to availability.

During the first session I will be aiming to find out more about you and how we can work together. We will possibly set a few points to focus on to achieve the best outcome. I will also be conducting some assessments to monitor your progress moving forward.
