About me and my therapy practice

Life brings its share of tough times and if you鈥檙e struggling, then comparing and minimising your experience thinking 鈥渙ther people have it worse鈥 only adds to the burden. The reality is you deserve support and you don鈥檛 have to navigate these challenges alone. My aim is to create a space where you can express what鈥檚 going on for you, explore who you are and what you want moving forward.

You might feel like many of the people I work with 鈥 stressed, overwhelmed, and caught in a constant inner monologue. Maybe you replay that embarrassing thing you said to your neighbour. You say yes to another request from the PTA or your boss even though you鈥檙e already doing too much. At night, your thoughts drag you into another endless 鈥渨hat if鈥 cycle, leaving you exhausted by day. When someone asks what you do for fun, you鈥檙e not sure how to answer but also feel frustrated that no one really knows the real you. You treat weekends as the time to catch-up because when you try to rest and recharge, guilt sneaks in.

But it doesn鈥檛 have to stay this way, you can find clarity, calm, and confidence 鈥 and begin to reconnect with yourself in ways that feel freeing, energising, and real.

Growing through your challenges

Often people want to get back to when they felt better but I believe we are constantly growing and evolving. The hard things we go through change us, and we might never be the same again. I hold an optimistic view that you can weather life鈥檚 storms and find your way through. Counselling can be like a compass, helping you navigate even when the path ahead is unclear.

Practice description

Through our work together, you will:

  • Learn to express yourself and articulate your needs.
  • Heal from the past and recognise what is holding you back.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what truly matters to you.
  • Develop effective coping strategies to navigate challenges with greater resilience.

Facing up to issues is difficult and challenging but counselling is a positive space. Processing what we have been through is important, but rather than staying overly focussed on the past I keep in mind that we are working to improve your wellbeing.

Sometimes, we can get so fixated on the healing that we forget living in the present moment so part of working together is looking at what changes you can make, even if you鈥檙e in the midst of one of your darkest times.

At the end of therapy, people I work with often say that they feel lighter. That they have increased their sense of trust and belief in themselves. That they feel capable and have learned how to better support themselves.

When you work with me, you can expect:

  • No judgement: You鈥檒l find a space free from criticism of your thoughts, feelings or decisions.
  • Unwavering hope and belief: I鈥檒l hold onto hope for your future and believe in your capabilities, even when you feel broken and can鈥檛 see it yourself.
  • Kindness and compassion: My therapy journey started as a client so I understand the experience from both sides.

Counselling is a unique, personalised journey and our work together is tailored entirely to you. For instance, your experience of anxiety will be vastly different from anyone else's: When did it first appear? How does it manifest in your body? What does it prevent you from doing? I love helping you explore the nuances of your own experiences. I don't just see a list of symptoms; you're so much more than your difficulties.
