About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for support can feel like a significant step, and finding the right counsellor is an important part of the process. I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted.
I am a qualified pluralistic counsellor working with children, young people, and adults. I believe that every person is unique, which is why I tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals, and preferences rather than using a single therapeutic approach. Together, we will explore what works best for you and adapt our work as your needs change.
I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, life transitions, and eating difficulties. Whether you are experiencing overwhelming emotions, feeling stuck, or simply need a safe place to talk, I will work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable.
When working with children and young people, I create a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment where they can express themselves through conversation, creative activities, or play-based techniques where appropriate. My aim is to help young people understand their feelings, build confidence, develop resilience, and strengthen healthy coping strategies.
With adults, I offer a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on empathy, honesty, and respect. Therapy provides an opportunity to make sense of difficult experiences, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and reconnect with your own strengths, values, and sense of self.
As a pluralistic counsellor, I draw from a range of evidence-informed approaches, including person-centred, cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, and psychodynamic ideas where appropriate. We will regularly review how therapy is progressing to ensure that our sessions remain meaningful and focused on what matters most to you.
Practice description
I offer counselling both in person and online, providing flexibility to meet your individual circumstances.
If you would like to find out more or have any questions, I welcome you to get in touch. I would be happy to arrange an initial conversation so that we can discuss your needs and help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you.
I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in discovering your own answers, developing greater self-awareness, and making changes that feel right for you.
My first session
Prior to your first session I will contact you via phone at a time that suits you for a free 30 minute initial assessment, this will allow you to get a feel for how the therapeutic relationship will feel and give you an insight into how counselling works. It will also give you the opportunity ask any questions you may have.
