About me and my therapy practice

Hi my name is Carla. I am a fully qualified and registered psychotherapeutic Therapist and a Couples Therapist. I offer therapeutic sessions in English and German.

I work in an open, warm and non-judgmental way. I believe my job is not to tell you what to do, but to create a safe space for you to feel truly heard. Drawing on different therapeutic approaches, I aim to support you in gaining deeper awareness of behaviour patterns and difficult feelings. Therapy is an opportunity to reconnect with your authentic self and to develop a better relationship with yourself and others.

I am a LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist and I work with a diverse client group of adults of any gender. I am experienced in working with issues such as, attachment issues, couples therapy, relationship issues, betrayal and heartbreak, anger, shame, family issues, estranged/difficult family dynamics, narcissistic abuse, LGBTQ+ issues, jealousy and trauma bonding.

Practice description

About Me

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ÌÇÐĹÙÍø). With extensive experience in private practice and a clinical background that includes past work for the mental health charity Mind, I offer a professional and compassionate space for deep therapeutic work.

My practice is built on a foundation of inclusivity, with a significant portion of my work dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. I am committed to providing an affirming environment where clients can explore their identities and lived experiences without judgment.

I specialise in working with women who have navigated difficult or enmeshed partnerships. Often, these complex relational dynamics are tied to a sense of low self-worth rooted in one's upbringing. My approach focuses on helping clients untangle these patterns, rebuild their self-esteem, and establish healthier boundaries.

In addition to my work with individuals, I am highly experienced in couples therapy. I have received advanced training in this field, accredited by the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP), allowing me to help partners navigate conflict and improve communication through a structured, integrative lens.

Whether you are seeking support for specific relationship issues, identity, or long-standing personal challenges, my goal is to provide the professional guidance necessary to facilitate lasting change.

My first session

It is crucial that the relationship with your psychotherapeutic counsellor is one of empathy and trust, and that you feel comfortable in working together. That’s why I offer a 15-minute initial consultation through the phone, so that I can get an understanding of why you want to start therapy and so that we can assess if we can work together, in order to best support your needs.

Just send me an email to info@carlapatinotherapy.com
