About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and welcome. I offer a calm, supportive and warm space where you can take your time to speak and share openly about what feels difficult at a pace that feels right for you.

My way of working is psychodynamic, which means we will be exploring some past experiences and making links to the present, how the past shaped the current feelings, patterns and struggles.

I work with care and sensitivity around trauma, loss, grief and living with long-term or rare health conditions, understanding the emotional complexity these can bring. I do not rush the process or offer quick solutions, but support and facilitate the change through reflection, curiosity and the self-awareness. I usually work over an extended period, however, we can also work in a time limited way as well.

My work is grounded by ÌÇÐĹÙÍø ethical framework and supported by regular supervision and ongoing professional development.

Practice description

I am an experienced and qualified psychodynamic counsellor who offers a warm, understanding space where you can talk openly and begin make sense of what you are feeling. My approach is gentle, relational and reflective. I believe that by exploring your story together, we can start to uncover patterns of thought and feeling that may be holding you back, and work towards understanding, healing and long-lasting change.

Alongside my general counselling work, I am also a specialist counsellor in rare illnesses. I have experience in supporting individuals and families affected by conditions that are not widely understood or easily spoken about. Living with or caring for someone with a rare condition can be deeply isolating, and it can sometimes feel as though others do not quite understand. I offer calm space where your experiences are validated, and where we can explore together how to manage the emotional impact of uncertainty, loss, fear, grief, perhaps, anger as well.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, low mood, bereavement, identity struggles or adjusting to life with a rare illness, I aim to help you feel seen, supported and more at ease with yourself. I believe that with the right support, it is possible to find clarity, greater self-awareness, and, hopefully, much needed peace.

My first session

I offer a complimentary 15-minute initial consultation via video or phone. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get the sense of how we could potentially work.

In our first full session we will take a bit more time to explore what has brought you to counselling. We will go at your pace addressing your concerns in more depth and will begin to understand more about your background, current situation, discuss your goals and how we might work together going forward.
