About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor offering a warm, calming, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind. I understand that coming to counselling can feel like a big step, and as a member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists) I aim to make the process feel as comfortable and supportive as possible.
My approach is grounded in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. This allows me to work in a way that is led by you, while also gently exploring how your past experiences may be shaping how you feel in the present.
I believe that feeling truly heard and accepted can be an important part of making sense of difficult thoughts and emotions. I will work alongside you with empathy and care, supporting you to explore things at your own pace.
Depression, anxiety, work related stress, cultural, loss and bereavement, self-esteem and identity, relationship challenges.
Practice description
I offer an integrative approach, combining person-centred and psychodynamic principles. In practice, this means I focus on building a genuine and trusting relationship, where you feel safe enough to share what is important to you.
As we work together, we may explore not only what is happening in your life now, but also how earlier experiences and relationships could be influencing your current feelings, behaviours, or patterns. This can help bring greater understanding and open up new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I won’t tell you what to do, but I will support you in finding your own understanding and direction. My role is to walk alongside you, offering reflections, insight, and a space where you can think and feel more freely.
I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling, depending on what feels right for you.
My first session
I offer a free 25 minute phone call or online session so we can gently explore what has brought you to counselling, and what you might be hoping for.
I’ll also explain how I work, including confidentiality, and you’re very welcome to ask any questions.
This first meeting is a chance for you to get a sense of me and how I work, and to see if it feels like a good fit. By the end of the session, we will discuss next steps and whether it feels right to continue working together. There is no pressure to commit. Sessions are 50 minutes long.
I offer concessionary rates to students, the elderly as well as those facing unemployment.
