About me and my therapy practice
Trying to find a therapist, or working out what type of therapy is right for you, from a long directory of listings, is hard. It’s not an easy process and it’s completely normal to have concerns or find it difficult.
Wherever you’re starting from, that’s ok. Many of the people I work with describe feeling stuck or lost. Sometimes they know what they 'should' or 'could' be doing, the problem is doing it. Other times people arrive feeling anxious, exhausted, dejected and not knowing which way to turn. If you’re wondering whether there is something fundamentally wrong you, my experience tells me there very likely isn’t. To quote the book title, there are many ‘good reasons for feeling bad’. Often life trips us up and things get in our way. Talking, real therapeutic talking, can illuminate the obstacles and create more space.
My approach is warm, direct and genuinely collaborative. I'm trained in Person Centred Psychotherapy and Social and Applied Psychology. I work with people who feel anxious, depressed, stressed and unsure. I don't work from scripts or follow a rigid programme. Instead I take time to understand you and your perspective. Whether you're considering a big change (a move, career shift, relationship decision), already navigating one, or you sense something needs to change but you're not sure what or how to start, I'd love to hear from you. My role is to help you find clarity and real footholds for moving forward.
Practice description
Therapy with me is a space to explore what's really going on. Not just the surface level summary, but the patterns, relationships, and responsibilities that shape how you're moving through life. Together, we develop your deep self-knowledge. This helps you find authentic solutions for your next step. It also builds resilience that helps you navigate life with confidence whatever it brings.
Connection matters. Research shows the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is the strongest predictor of change. I offer a non-judgmental, confidential space where we work at your pace. I welcome you to join a free introduction call with me so you can get some experience of whether my approach may be beneficial to you.
My first session
The first step is a free, 20 minute initial consultation session. It's an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me. You can ask me any questions, share any concerns and we can get an idea of where or how we might begin working together.
