Availability

I provide online and telephone sessions from Monday to Saturday.

My available hours are constantly changing. Please contact me for more information on my availability.

I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation where we can have a discussion about what brings you to therapy and what you want to achieve. I hope that this will give you a sense of how it might feel to work with me and offer you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have about how I work and how we might work together.

About me and my therapy practice

In our work together, we will focus on what feels relevant to you. Many of us experience challenging times in our life and facing them on our own can feel overwhelming. You may know what you want to talk about, or you may simply sense that something is not right.

As a person-centred counsellor, I will offer you a safe space where you can feel heard and understood without being judged or told what to do or how to think. I will work with you to explore your thoughts and feelings with a focus on finding the answers you need to gain clarity, understand yourself more fully, build your confidence, and raise your self-esteem.

Some of the areas I can help with:

- Feeling anxious, experiencing intense feelings of worry, despair, or an overwhelming sense of panic that feels consuming.

- Feeling depressed, always in a low mood, like you're carrying a weight of hopelessness that makes every day feel difficult to get through.

- Noticing that you become easily annoyed or angry with members of your family or become frustrated or irritated in situations that previously felt calm.

 - Struggling to deal with the grief and loss of a loved one or worried about your own death.

- Feeling like something is missing or disconnected in some way. Struggling to find the motivation to move forward in life, or maybe life feels like it's moving too fast.

- Life changes and transitions, such as redundancy, retirement, divorce and illness.

I know that we can make the changes we need when we talk about the difficult things we are going through and I can help you to make the changes you want to make in your life.

Practice description

As a person-centred counsellor, I work with a humanistic approach. This means that I won’t tell you what to do but will work with you and help you to find your own answers. It may feel that you don’t know the answers you need and that you want someone to tell you what you should do, but my genuine belief is that you do hold your own answers, we just need to find them.

I will listen to you without judgment and help you explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions, working with you to find a way to understand these better. I won’t tell you what you should feel, think or do, and I won’t pressure you to focus on things that feel too difficult. I will, however, offer a gentle curiosity about your experiencing and support you to feel comfortable to work at a pace that suits you.

As we work together on the things you choose to bring to therapy, it might feel like we are working on completing a puzzle. Identifying the different pieces and learning where they fit together to create a clearer picture of how you can live well.

I hold a strong belief that therapy can be a journey of profound personal learning and what is learnt in therapy can be taken forward in our lives and the self-discovery we achieve can stay with us forever.

My first session

If you decide to choose me as your counsellor, our first session will be dedicated to defining how we’ll work together. In this session, I will ask you about your reasons for starting therapy and ask some questions about your life history and any patterns of how you experience yourself and other people in your life.

Our first session will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about me and how I work or about how therapy might work for you. I would like this first session to offer you a space to gain any clarity you may need about starting therapy and see how it feels for you to work with me. At the end of our first session we can take some time to reflect on how the first session felt for you and if any adjustments might be needed.

As your counsellor, you can expect me to be honest and genuine, and I will treat you with kindness and respect. Throughout our time together, I will adhere to the guidance set out in the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s ethical framework and will work with you in a way that upholds the principles set out in the framework. This means I am committed to maintaining professional standards, ensuring your wellbeing is my priority, and fostering an environment of trust, respect, and confidentiality in all our interactions. My approach is guided by these ethical principles at every stage of our work together, so you can feel confident that your best interests are always at the forefront of our therapeutic relationship.

My practice hours can also be flexible and accommodating. Please contact me for further information.

The choice to begin therapy sessions will be entirely yours, with no obligation to commit from the outset.

My therapy sessions can be in-person at a therapy space in Palmers Green, or via an online platform accessible from the comfort of your own home. I also offer telephone sessions if this would be more suited to your needs. Sessions are typically scheduled on a weekly basis at the same time each week. Each session lasts 50 minutes and is priced at £70. You may prefer sessions of different lengths, whether longer or shorter and we can discuss these options during our initial telephone conversation. Counselling usually takes place on a weekly basis, but if you would prefer fortnightly or less frequent sessions, we can discuss the options available.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified person-centred therapist and will offer you a safe space where you can feel heard and understood without being judged or told what to do. I will work with you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with a focus on finding the answers you need. At every stage of our work, I will be respectfully honest and provide you with a space where you can experience real unique genuineness.

In our work together, we will focus on what feels relevant to you. Many of us experience challenging times in our life and facing them on our own can feel overwhelming. You may know what you want to talk about, or you may simply sense that something is not right. I will support you to find the answers you need to gain clarity, understand yourself more fully, build your confidence, and strengthen your self-esteem.

My hope is that the therapy space I offer allows you to achieve the healing and personal growth that is important for you, so you can make the positive changes you feel are necessary in your life. I believe that every person has the capacity to reach their full potential and value their self-worth in a world that doesn’t always offer understanding and acceptance. With the right support, you can become more confident in your world to live life the best way you can.

Practice description

I describe my practice as a therapy space that offers both counselling and psychotherapy and sometimes a combination of both. People often ask about the difference between counselling and psychotherapy which can be answered in different ways by different people. In my opinion, counselling generally focuses on helping individuals address specific issues or challenges, such as coping with grief or managing stress, and tends to be shorter-term. Psychotherapy involves exploring deeper patterns of behaviour, thoughts, and feelings, often over a longer period of time, and can support personal growth and lasting change. In our early conversations, we will work together to determine your preferences around how you want to work or we can remain flexible to discover what works best for you as we go along.

Whatever your reason might be for starting therapy, the most important thing is finding a therapist that feels right for you. I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation where we can have a discussion about what brings you to therapy and what you want to achieve. I hope that this will give you a sense of how it might feel to work with me and offer you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have about how I work and how we might work together. You may know what you want to talk about, or you may simply sense that something is not right. I will support you to find the answers you need to gain clarity, understand yourself more fully, build your confidence, and raise your self-esteem.

I can help people who are feeling like something is missing or feeling like they are disconnected in some way. You might be feeling anxious, experiencing intense feelings of worry, despair, or an overwhelming sense of panic that feels consuming. Or maybe you're feeling depressed, always in a low mood, like you're carrying a weight of hopelessness that makes every day feel difficult to get through.

You may be noticing that you become easily annoyed or angry with members of your family or become frustrated or irritated in situations that previously felt calm. These feelings might be difficult to control and feel like they come out of nowhere, or they might constantly weigh heavily on you every day.

I work with people who have experienced loss and are struggling to deal with the grief that feels consuming. It might be that trying to get on with life, seems hard and pointless. You might be worried about death or feeling extremely anxious when separated from someone or even just the thought of this creates an increased sense of panic.

I also work with adults who are neurodivergent and want a space to explore their experiencing in a world that doesn't always understand or accept the daily challenges that are constantly faced. You may have had a recent diagnosis of ADHD or Autism and are looking for a safe neuro-affirming space to reflect and adapt to a new way of knowing who you are with a new understanding yourself.

About me and my therapy practice

As a person-centred counsellor, I am deeply committed to helping people to understand themselves better and find suitable ways to work through difficult times. In our work together we will focus on what you want to talk about and what feels relevant to you or, you may not know what it is that you want to change but know there is something going on for you that doesn’t feel right. I will provide you with a safe, confidential space where I will help you find the answers you need to gain clarity, understand yourself more fully, build your confidence, and strengthen your self-esteem.

My hope is that the therapeutic space I offer allows you to achieve the healing and personal growth that is important for you to be able to make the positive changes you feel are necessary in your life. I believe that every person has the capacity to reach their full potential and value their self-worth in a world that doesn’t always offer understanding and acceptance. With the right support, people can become more confident to build their self-esteem and rediscover their internal drive to live life the best way they can.

I will offer you a safe and confidential space where you can share your thoughts and experiences without worrying about feeling judged or misunderstood. Many of us experience challenging times in our lifetime and facing them on our own can feel overwhelming. Feeling like you’re not your usual self can make it harder to function in everyday life, in a way that wasn’t a struggle before, or maybe there’s always been something about how you feel that you can’t quite put your finger on. When we feel like this, finding the best ways to cope isn't always clear. I will provide a therapeutic space where you can openly talk about the things you want to work on while feeling held and supported.
