About me and my therapy practice

My name is Alex and I am a qualified Mental Health Therapist with a Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

My therapeutic experience includes working within the NHS, where I have had the privilege of supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds with many different emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck in life.

Alongside my therapeutic work, my professional background also spans both corporate and start-up business environments. In more recent years, I have worked within schools in a management role, where understanding and supporting the needs of young people, parents, and families has been an important part of my work.

As a relatively young male therapist and parent myself, I understand some of the pressures many young men face today, whether that is anxiety, pressure to succeed, confidence issues, relationships, identity, or simply trying to cope whilst appearing okay on the outside.

I recognise that opening up and talking about emotions does not always come naturally, particularly for men. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and non-judgmental, with the aim of creating a space where you can feel comfortable to talk openly at your own pace.

I believe therapy should feel human and collaborative rather than clinical or intimidating. Together we can explore whatever may be troubling you, helping you gain greater self-understanding, self-acceptance, and confidence in moving forward.

Practice description

For a lot of young men, talking about how you鈥檙e really feeling doesn鈥檛 always come naturally. You might be used to keeping things to yourself, pushing through, distracting yourself, or feeling like you should just 鈥渄eal with it鈥. Over time though, anxiety, stress, low mood, pressure, anger, overthinking, or feeling stuck can become exhausting to carry alone.

As a relatively young male therapist, I understand some of the pressures that can come with modern life, relationships, identity, work, family expectations, confidence, and trying to figure things out whilst appearing like you鈥檙e coping on the outside.

I offer a relaxed, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly at your own pace without pressure or expectations. Therapy with me is not about being analysed or told what to do. It鈥檚 about having space to properly think, reflect, and make sense of what鈥檚 going on beneath the surface.

My approach is rooted in person-centred therapy, meaning I believe you are the expert in your own life and experiences. Together we can explore anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, stress, motivation, identity, or whatever may be affecting you, with the aim of helping you feel more understood, more confident in yourself, and move towards greater self-acceptance.

Alongside private practice, I have worked within a school environment for the past five years, supporting young people, parents, and staff. Being both a therapist and a parent myself has also deepened my understanding of the pressures young people and families can face today.

I know reaching out for therapy can feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar, especially for men who may not have spoken openly before. My aim is to create a space where you feel genuinely listened to, respected, and able to be yourself without judgement.

About me and my therapy practice

My name is Alex and I鈥檓 a Mental Health Therapist with a Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

My therapeutic experience to date has been within the NHS, where have been privileged to have supported many individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds with a wide mix of therapeutic needs.

In addition to my therapeutic background, my professional experience spans corporate and start up business environments. In more recent years, I have been working in schools in a management role where my ability to understand the needs of both parents and children alike is critical.

I understand the impact of the pressures and stresses of life and the challenge in managing them whilst maintaining the every day.

Practice description

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not yourself can be exhausting, especially when you are trying to manage everything on your own. Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and my aim is to offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to talk openly and be genuinely heard.

I work with people experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, and periods of feeling emotionally overwhelmed or disconnected. Sometimes clients come to therapy with a clear understanding of what is troubling them, while others simply know that something doesn鈥檛 feel quite right. Whatever brings you here, we can work together at your pace to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with compassion and curiosity.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. Feeling accepted without judgement can create the space to better understand yourself, develop greater self-awareness, and move towards increased self-acceptance and emotional balance.

My approach is rooted in person-centred therapy, which means I see you as the expert in your own life and experiences. Rather than telling you what to do, I will work alongside you with empathy, honesty, and care, helping you make sense of difficult emotions, build confidence, and feel more empowered in your life and relationships.

Alongside private practice, I also have experience working within a school environment, supporting and communicating closely with young people, parents, and staff.

Finding the right therapist is important, and I understand that making first contact can sometimes feel difficult. I welcome an initial conversation to help you decide whether I may be the right fit for you.
