Availability
I currently have some availability for new clients, with a focus on evening and weekend sessions.
I offer appointments during weekday evenings, as well as a limited number of Saturday sessions for those who need additional flexibility.
Weekend sessions are intentionally kept to a small number and are offered as premium appointments.
I work both in person and online.
If you’re considering starting therapy, you’re very welcome to get in touch to see if I might be a good fit for you.
About me and my therapy practice
Therapy with me isn’t about being perfect or having the right words.
It’s about having a space where you can show up exactly as you are and know that I will too.
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like no one really hears you?
You don’t have to carry it alone.
Hiya, I’m Catherine Cassells, an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Moy, Northern Ireland.
I believe every person deserves a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
My approach has been described by clients as warm, compassionate, and surprisingly normal, whatever that means. I show up as myself in the room (sometimes with a coffee in hand, always as a real person), and I find that when I do, it makes it much easier for you to be yourself too.
Clients often tell me they feel like they can just be themselves with me, no jargon, no pressure, just honest, down-to-earth conversation. I won’t expect you to filter what you’re saying or have everything neatly figured out. You can come in exactly as you are, even if that means you’re overwhelmed, fed up, or don’t quite know where to start.
I tailor sessions to your unique needs, drawing from different theories and techniques so that our work together is centred around what actually works for you, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Counselling can be whatever you need it to be, whether that’s making sense of what’s going on right now, working through past experiences, thinking about where you’re heading, or simply having space to reflect on your week.
Sessions don’t always have to be weekly either. While some people prefer regular support, others move to fortnightly or occasional check-ins as things shift. We can find a rhythm that works for you and adapt it as your needs change.
Practice description
A lot of people think they need to be in crisis before coming to therapy.
The truth is, many clients come because they feel:
– stuck
– overwhelmed
– unsure of their direction
– or just tired of carrying everything on their own
You don’t have to wait until things get worse.
Having a regular space to talk and reflect can make a real difference.
I work with women and men juggling everything but feeling like they’re falling behind, single parents who don’t get time to breathe, and people dealing with big life shifts, breakups, burnout, and illness.
I have a deep passion for supporting those living with chronic illness, helping them navigate the emotional and psychological challenges that come with long-term health conditions.
I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, trained in Belfast and Dublin.
I offer evening and weekend sessions designed for people who can’t access therapy during standard 9–5 hours. Whether you're working full-time, parenting, or just need space outside the rush of the week, know that I can typically find a time that makes therapy work for you.
I enjoy working with clients in person or online. I have a particular specialisation for online therapy and although new to most people, I work hard to ensure the screen is no barrier to therapy.
Weekend sessions are reserved for clients who need flexibility and dedicated time, these are limited and offered at a premium.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, or major life changes, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
You don’t need to have the right words, they don't exist, the hardest part is just reaching out and we can take it from there.
My first session
The first session is really just a chance for us to meet and see if it feels like a good fit.
We’ll go over a few practical bits, like confidentiality and how I work, so you feel comfortable and know what to expect.
After that, we can start to talk about what’s been going on for you and what’s brought you to therapy, as much or as little as you feel ready to share. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out.
Sometimes it can take a session or two to get a clearer sense of things, and that’s completely okay, we take it at your pace and work collaboratively throughout.
What matters most is that you feel comfortable. If for any reason it doesn’t feel like the right fit, I’ll always support you in finding someone who is.
