About me and my therapy practice
Looking for therapy can feel like a big step. Whether this is your first time reaching out or you have had therapy before, taking the time to look for support already says something important about your willingness to care for yourself and make a change.
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I work with a range of therapeutic approaches so that our sessions can be shaped around you and your individual needs. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. If something has not worked for you before, we can use that understanding to guide our work together and find an approach that feels right for you. I aim to create a space where you can speak openly, feel genuinely heard, and begin to make sense of what is happening in your life.
A little about who I am, I am Nour Norris OBE. I was awarded an OBE in recognition of my work as a counsellor, psychotherapist, advocate, and writer supporting people through trauma, loss, and life’s most challenging experiences. My work has also been recognised with several additional awards for my contribution to supporting individuals and communities. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to helping people rebuild stability, regain a sense of safety, and rediscover their strength, because even in the most difficult moments, change, healing, and a meaningful life are still possible.
I am qualified in several therapy modalities:
a) Psychodynamic, which helps us understand past patterns and experiences.
b) Gestalt, which gives us information about our unspoken thoughts.
c) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which can help manage difficult thought patterns.
d) Person-centred, which is about you setting the agenda, and us exploring your inner thoughts and concerns.
Practice description
I seek to understand you, working holistically, engaging the neuroscience that supports brain health. I consider the three most important factors in enabling change, feeling better, and personal growth to be:
1) How do you connect with your therapist?
2) The type of therapy provided.
3) Where are you in your life today?
I believe the connection with your therapist and yourself is vital to your functioning future self. I aim to create a safe and welcoming place where you can feel confident to talk about what is on your mind, and where we can work together to get you back to your best.
This can support you to say the things you may not have said before, test new ideas out, and slowly enable you to reorganise your intrusive or uncomfortable thoughts. More importantly, we will aim to help you to be your own inner therapist, enabling you to control those thoughts and emotions that have impacted you.
-Therapy can help with many difficulties, including:**
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma and loss
- Relationship and family difficulties
- Domestic abuse and coercive control
- Stress and life transitions
- Identity and self-esteem
- Rebuilding life structure around work, family, or major life changes
- Coping with neurodiversity challenges (such as ADHD or related difficulties) that can make daily life harder to organise or manage
-Developing practical strategies and coaching to support focus, routines, and emotional regulation
My first session
I offer an initial 15-minute phone consultation free of charge. This allows us to discuss your needs and determine if we are a good fit to work together.
In the first session, we start with an assessment where we explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to work on. Together, we will also identify some goals for therapy, so we have a clear direction for the work.
Many clients begin with a block of six or twelve sessions, and we review progress as we go. Therapy can be short-term and focused, or longer-term for deeper exploration, depending on your needs. We will decide together what approach feels right for you.

About me and my therapy practice
I understand that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, but I’m here to meet you where you are with compassion and care. With years of experience working closely with individuals, couples, and families, I’ve supported clients through anxiety, trauma, loss, addiction, relationship struggles, and the impacts of abuse.
I am an OBE-awarded psychotherapist, recognised for my work supporting survivors of trauma and abuse, and for championing systemic change through therapy and advocacy. I feel deeply honoured to walk alongside my clients, to witness their courage, hold space for their pain, and support their growth. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where healing becomes possible. I work integratively in both English and Arabic, specialising in trauma, domestic abuse, grief, anxiety, and relationship challenges. Therapy with me is a collaborative journey, rooted in trust, empathy, and a shared belief in your capacity to heal and thrive.
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I adapt my approach to suit your needs, blending techniques like CBT, person-centred, and Gestalt therapy. I offer a safe, understanding space where you can explore your emotions and build resilience. Therapy is more than a process; it’s a journey we take together toward healing and growth.
Practice description
My London practice and clinic is for people who have been carrying too much for too long and want therapy that is both human and effective.
I specialise in trauma and complex presentations, including PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic, grief and loss, and the lasting impact of high-stress or harmful experiences. Many of the patients I support are functioning on the outside while privately struggling with hypervigilance, intrusive memories, sleep disruption, emotional overwhelm, dissociation, or a constant sense of threat. Therapy here is designed to help you feel safe again in your body, steady in your mind, and confident in your choices.
My work is shaped not only by clinical training, but by lived exposure to the realities of systems, crisis, and what it takes to keep going when life has been unfair. I am a fighter by nature, and I bring that same strength into the therapy room: calm, grounded, and focused on progress. You will be met with warmth and clarity, not judgment. We will work with structure and purpose, at a pace that feels safe, and with methods that are trauma-informed and evidence-based.
Patients often tell me they feel understood quickly, and that the work helps them make sense of what they are carrying, reduce symptoms, and rebuild trust in themselves and in life. Over the years, I have supported hundreds of people to move from survival mode into a more settled, connected way of living.
Sessions are available in my calm, private, welcoming central London clinic, with online appointments also available UK-wide.
My first session
First session (Assessment)
Your first session is an initial assessment. This is a focused, supportive space for me to understand what has brought you to therapy, what you have been coping with, and what you would like to change. We will explore your current symptoms, relevant history, triggers and stressors, and what support has or has not helped in the past.
You will leave the session with more clarity and an initial plan. If it feels right to continue, we will agree on the best way of working together, including the main goals for therapy and a direction for treatment.
Therapy length
Depending on your needs and what you are bringing, we can work either short-term (targeted work over a set number of sessions) or longer-term (deeper, paced work for complex or longstanding difficulties). We will review progress regularly and adjust the plan as needed.
