About me and my therapy practice

Welcome, my name is Anissa Allen, and I am an experienced and fully qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor based in Southam, Warwickshire. I provide person-centred counselling for adults, children and adolescents in person and online.

I understand first hand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming and that reaching out for help can be a daunting decision. My practice is founded on the belief that everyone deserves to be heard and supported, no matter their age, background or circumstances. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, bereavement, low self-esteem, or simply feeling stuck, I am here to work collaboratively with you to explore your concerns and find a way forward.

My aim is to provide clients with a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment to explore their difficulties. I recognise that I may not be able to change your circumstances, but I can assist you in navigating challenging thoughts and emotions during difficult times. My person-centred approach to counselling is genuine and human, built on trust and mutual respect. You'll receive more than just passive listening; I will actively participate in our conversations, offering thoughtful feedback and insights to deepen our work together. My role is not to provide solutions but to support you as you discover answers and forge your own path.

My own personal experience of counselling has helped me become more self-aware, gain valuable insights and make positive changes in my life. Recognising the significant impact of therapeutic work, I therefore strive to offer this valuable experience to my clients.

Practice description

I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy and have extensive experience working with adults, children, and adolescents across a range of counselling environments, including primary and secondary schools as well as various charities and non-profit organisations. I am fully insured and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ÌÇÐĹÙÍø) (Member No: 407326).

In my practice with children and young people, I frequently incorporate arts, crafts, games, and toys to facilitate both verbal and creative self-expression. These approaches can enhance therapeutic outcomes for younger clients, particularly those who may have trouble articulating their emotions verbally.

Sessions are held in a safe, welcoming environment, either in person or online to suit your preferences and lifestyle. If the client is of school age, I may also be able to carryout sessions within the school (providing the school agree to this and can provide a confidential room).

My practice upholds strict confidentiality and adheres to the highest ÌÇÐĹÙÍø ethical standards and GPDR requirements, giving you the reassurance and trust needed to share openly.

If you are considering counselling or have questions about the process, please feel free to get in touch. I am here to listen, support, and help you navigate your journey towards healing and personal growth.
