About me and my therapy practice
There are times in life when things can feel overwhelming, and you may find yourself feeling disconnected from who you are or unsure of how to move forward. You might be living with the impact of trauma, struggling in your relationships, feeling worn down by stress or burnout, or trying to make sense of your experiences as a neurodivergent person with ADHD or autism. Whatever has brought you here, please know you do not have to go through it alone.
As a counsellor who draws on a range of different therapeutic approaches, I tailor therapy to your individual needs. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can take a pause from the pressures of everyday life, slow down, and gently explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we can begin to make sense of what you are going through, deepen your understanding of yourself, and support you in moving towards the changes that feel meaningful and important to you. My practice is neuro-affirmative and inclusive, welcoming individual ways of experiencing the world with curiosity, respect, and compassion.
I believe that feeling safe, understood, and comfortable in therapy is what allows real change to happen. I aim to help you feel heard and accepted, so you can gain greater self-understanding and move towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Practice description
My approach
I am passionate about working with the body-mind connection, and I am committed to embracing the diversity in our individual experiences. I use a body-aware approach to trauma, with a focus on calming your nervous system. Together, we will discover your inner wisdom, understand your personal experience and connect these with evidence-based counselling interventions and mindfulness techniques to enhance your self-awareness and your relationship with yourself. I will be there to support you through the hard work of change.
People work with therapists for a variety of reasons; all of which are unique to the individual. I will personalize therapy to meet your specific needs and I will work at your pace. I am trained in several approaches to therapy including relational, person-centered, existential, psychodynamic, and cognitive.
My philosophy
I believe that all humans have within them a natural capacity for positive change. Sometimes when we are faced with overwhelming stress and stuckness, we can lose sight of our inner strength and wisdom. Your counselling sessions are a private space for you to freely process your thoughts and feelings. My mission is to share a space in which you feel comfortable to bring all aspects of yourself to counselling
You are the only person who truly knows how you are thinking and feeling. I will be guided by how you understand yourself and the world around you, with a focus on integrity, empathy, and compassion. Whilst I cannot give you advice or tell you what to do, I can work in a flexible way and tailor therapy to your needs. Together, we will discover your inner resources, find new ways of coping, and explore your relationship with yourself and others. This flexible and personalized approach lends itself to sustainable growth and meaningful positive change.
My first session
Your first therapy session is an opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, and what you are hoping to get from our time together. We will look at how we can work together, in a way that is meaningful for you.
We will also use our first session to discuss confidentiality, answer your questions, and clarify any concerns you may have about therapy.
All counselling sessions are 50-minutes.
I work in an open-ended manner, which means that you decide for how long you wish to be in therapy. So long as it is effective and beneficial for you, we can continue to work together.
