About me and my therapy practice

‘Life, at its best, is a flowing, changing process in which nothing is fixed.’ Carl Rogers

Life can be complex, complicated, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, unsure about how to cope. You may be experiencing loss, low mood, relationship breakdown, retirement, changes in health, domestic or sexual abuse – or any other numerous life impacting events. Sometimes a little support can make all the difference, and this is where therapy can help.

How I work

I am a mature counsellor, offering a calm, steady, trusting, therapeutic space where you can explore and make sense of whatever is troubling you. I draw upon different forms of counselling, making my approach integrative and tailored to you. This client led therapy, places you firmly at the centre of our work together.

Together, we will create a confidential environment where you can share your thoughts and feelings openly. It is okay to express emotion, be vulnerable. I will be beside you, supporting you, and together we will work towards understanding, clarity and practical strategies that help you regain balance and move forward with confidence.

My experience

I have experience working with adults of all ages with a range of life issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, workplace issues, relationship difficulties, sexual abuse, domestic abuse and eating disorders/body image.

I am trained, and experienced, Grief Counsellor and Counsellor for survivors of Sexual Violence and Abuse.

Prior to becoming a Counsellor, I worked in the corporate sector for 30 years but my passion for helping others led me to several volunteering roles. These include Childline, Cruse Bereavement Support and SARAC (Sexual Abuse Rape Advice Centre).

Practice description

My approach is client-led, meaning you decide what we talk about and how we move forward. I offer empathy, acceptance, and a non-judgmental presence, helping you feel truly heard and supported. I may draw on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you.

I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing when given the right conditions. My role is not to direct or advise, but to walk alongside you, helping you reconnect with your inner resources and make sense of your journey. Whether you're facing anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to support you in finding clarity and confidence.

The therapeutic relationship provides a safe, non-judgemental space, for you to talk about your deepest feelings and emotions, confidentially. I offer a warm, empathic, kind welcome, for you to be heard, and to just be you.

I passionately believe that everyone deserves support.
