About me and my therapy practice

You might feel exhausted by your own mind. Constant thinking, analysing and second-guessing yourself. Going over conversations and questioning how you come across.

You may already have a good understanding of yourself, but still feel stuck. At times, your emotions might feel intense or overwhelming. At others, you might feel disconnected or unsure what you鈥檙e feeling at all.

There can also be a strong sense of self-doubt, with an inner voice that criticises you or makes you feel like you鈥檙e not quite enough.

I work with people who feel stuck in ways that are hard to change, whether that鈥檚 in how they think, how they feel, or how they connect with others.

In our work together, we take a closer look at the patterns that keep showing up for you, and what happens when things feel difficult. Rather than trying to get rid of thoughts or feelings, we focus on understanding them, so you have more choice in what you do next.

When it鈥檚 hard to find the words, we might also pay attention to what you notice in your body, using that as another way to understand what鈥檚 going on.

What you bring shapes how I work. I don鈥檛 follow one fixed approach, but adapt to you and what you need. I鈥檓 active, open and direct in sessions, offering both support and challenge, without expecting you to perform or have it all figured out.

Practice description

I work with people who feel stuck in how they think, feel, and relate to themselves and others.

This can show up as low self-esteem, anxiety, shame, burnout, overthinking, or a sense of disconnection from yourself or the people around you. You might feel overwhelmed, rely on ways of coping that no longer help, or find it hard to set boundaries or trust your own reactions.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and self-aware, but feel exhausted by their internal world and unsure how to move forward.

You might be doing your best and still feel like it鈥檚 not enough, unsure of yourself and second-guessing your decisions or what feels right for you. It can feel hard to trust your own reactions, often going over things in your mind or looking to others for reassurance, trying to work out the 鈥渞ight鈥 way to be.

You don鈥檛 need a diagnosis or a crisis to seek support. Feeling that something isn鈥檛 quite right is enough.

Alongside private practice, I鈥檝e worked in mental health charities, addiction services, crisis helplines, and frontline roles supporting people with complex emotional needs, including those exploring or living with a diagnosis of BPD/EUPD.

I also work with people who have found therapy difficult in the past or haven鈥檛 felt fully understood by professionals or services.

I offer sessions online, by phone, and in person in Cardiff. Some people come weekly or fortnightly for a period of time, while others work with me longer term. We can shape this around what suits you.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute discovery call before we begin. This is a chance for you to ask any questions and talk a little about what鈥檚 been going on for you and what you鈥檙e hoping for.

You don鈥檛 need to prepare anything in advance or have the right words. We can take things at your pace and begin to understand what鈥檚 been going on in a way that feels right for you.

Some people come with something specific in mind, others are less sure. You don鈥檛 need a clear plan, we start from where you are.

Starting to talk to someone new can feel unfamiliar, but the call can give you an idea of what it鈥檚 like to speak with me and ask any questions you might have about how I work.

The hope is that by the end of that initial contact, you have a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me and whether this feels like a space where you could begin to open up.

If you decide to go ahead, I鈥檒l send you a welcome pack with an intake form, a counselling agreement, and some information about how I work, so you know what to expect before we meet.

Our first session is a space to begin exploring things in more depth.

People are often surprised by how easy it is to settle into a natural conversation, where what鈥檚 on your mind can come out more easily and without worrying about getting everything right. You can just be yourself.

If this resonates and you鈥檇 like to arrange a chat, you can send me a message and we can take it from there.
