About me and my therapy practice
If you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed, struggling with a difficult life event, your relationships or sense of self, I offer a warm and supportive space for you to explore what's brought you to counselling.
Often these feelings can lead to you feeling stuck and lost, not knowing what you need for yourself. Counselling can make a significant impact to you and your life, providing you with the space and time to better understand yourself.
My approach
It can be hard to explain how you're feeling to other people without a fear of being misunderstood or feeling like a burden. I can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings without judgement, but with empathy and understanding.
I’m a humanistic integrative counsellor, which means I see you as the expert on your own life. My role is to help you access that inner understanding, offering guidance, challenge and insight along the way.
What working together looks like
The relationship between us is central to our work. In weekly sessions we might explore:
- your relationship with your mother or primary caregiver and how this continues to shape your relationships, self-worth and emotional world today
- patterns in your behaviour and relationships
- your sense of self
- your feelings, even those that you keep hidden from others
I work particularly well with women who...
- are in their 30s, 40s and 50s
- feel they've lost themselves beneath the roles they fulfil
- are navigating motherhood, relationship changes, career changes or menopause
- have always been the strong one
- are emotionally exhausted from looking after everyone else
- want to understand why they think, feel and respond the way they do
- are curious about how childhood relationships continue to shape adult life
Practice description
How I work
We’ll meet weekly for 50-minute sessions, working at a pace that feels right for you.
I place a strong emphasis on building a genuine, trusting relationship. I’ll offer empathy, careful listening, and a non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and honestly, without fear of being misunderstood or dismissed. Feeling safe, seen, and supported is the foundation for meaningful change.
Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll explore it together. Our work can help you make sense of your experiences, connect more deeply with your feelings, and move towards the life you want.
In-person and online sessions
I offer face-to-face sessions from a warm, welcoming room in the centre of Bath. I also have a limited number of online sessions available for clients who prefer to work remotely.
My first session
Following an initial free phone consultation, our first session will see us meet at my room in the centre of Bath. As with all of our sessions, we will meet for 50 minutes.
Unlike our other sessions which will be led by you, this session will involve an initial assessment so that I can better understand what you are experiencing and your goals for therapy.
You may still be curious about what therapy will look like, and so this first session gives you an opportunity to bring any questions you still have about the process and about how we will work together.
