About me and my therapy practice
I am a relational, integrative therapist. That means I draw on a range of therapeutic traditions and use what fits you. Every person is different. The way we work will reflect that.
The relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of the work. I bring my whole self to the room. I listen carefully, and I will challenge you when the moment calls for it.
Sessions are led by you. There is no agenda, no worksheet. We follow whatever feels most alive or most pressing that week. Over time, most people find they start to understand themselves in ways they hadn’t before: why certain things keep happening, why some feelings won’t shift. That understanding is where change begins.
Practice description
Many of the people I work with are managing well on the outside. They are capable, often high-achieving, and have usually tried to think their way through whatever is wrong. They come to therapy when thinking hasn’t been enough.
Some are carrying something specific: burnout, anxiety about the state of the world, or their place in it; their masculinity or their queerness. Others find it harder to name. They just know something needs to change.
If that sounds like you, I work in Shoreditch and online. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a sense of how I work before committing to anything.
My first session
The first session will usually be led by me. This is to make sure that I get a basic picture of some of your material, and to warm us up to each other. Some people find talking about themselves very daunting, and so the first session should be a gentler introduction.
Then, the work begins as normal. From the second session onwards, you are able to bring in whatever you want in the session. Over time, your comfort level and safety will hopefully increase. This is how the work can deepen.
