About me and my therapy practice
Do you find yourself pulling away from people just as things start to feel close? Do you carry a quiet sense of shame you can't quite name, or feel disconnected from others, or from yourself, even when life looks fine on the surface? If relationships feel like they take more out of you than they give back, or anxiety shows up as a constant hum you've learned to live with, you're not broken, and you're not alone. These patterns almost always make sense once we understand where they came from.
My name is Gemma, and I'm a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered integrative counsellor specialising in attachment and relational trauma. I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, shame, and disconnection, often rooted in early relational wounds that still shape how safe you feel with others and in your own body today.
Practice description
I can help if you recognise:
- Anxiety that intensifies in relationships, or a fear of getting too close
- Health anxiety, a nervous system on constant alert, scanning your body for signs that something's wrong
- Panic, social anxiety, or a general sense of unease that never quite switches off
- A persistent sense of shame or "not being enough," even when nothing's obviously wrong
- Difficulty trusting people, or trusting good things when they happen
- A pattern of disconnecting from others, your body, or your own emotions as a way of staying safe
- The sense that you're coping, but not really living
