About me and my therapy practice
Taking the step to start therapy can feel daunting and I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for you to pause, reflect and focus on you.
I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, where the core of my approach is based on a humanistic, person-centred model. This means we work at your pace, where you decide what you bring to our sessions as our therapy is about you and your autonomy. I combine a psychodynamic approach, exploring how your past experiences, patterns and relationships shape who you are today, supporting your personal growth.
I have worked with clients navigating a wide range of life challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, grief and loss. My background includes experience working at a women鈥檚 centre, receiving extensive training relating to domestic abuse, including training with a charity that supports survivors of child sexual abuse. I have also experience working at a hospice, supporting individuals through bereavement, with additional training in pregnancy and infant loss.
I hold a level 3 certificate in British Sign Language. While I do not offer full sessions in BSL, I am deaf aware.
I respect diversity and difference, creating and maintaining an atmosphere of openness, trust and safety.
Practice description
I work with individual adults, offering both short-term and long-term support.
I offer both face to face and online counselling from my practice in Sutton, providing a quiet, private, reflective space.
My first session
Before our first session, I offer a free short call lasting roughly 20 minutes to discuss briefly what brings you to therapy and what you want to work on. This will include me gathering a few basic details. The call provides you with the opportunity to get a feel for me and see if we are a good 鈥渇it鈥, allowing you to make an informed decision in regard to us working together.
In our first session we will look at your expectations and what you want to achieve in more detail, building an important foundation for our work together. Your first session, like all your sessions will be about having your time and space to explore what you want to bring.
