ÌÇÐĹÙÍø

I am a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental Registered ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Counsellor offering a safe, compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted. As a registered EMDR Practitioner, I integrate EMDR with a pluralistic approach, tailoring therapy to your individual needs, goals and preferences, because I believe there is no single approach that works for everyone.

I work with adults, young people and older adolescents, supporting clients through a wide range of difficulties including childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues, life transitions and the lasting impact of adverse experiences. I have a particular interest and experience in working with neurodivergent clients, including autism and ADHD, providing an affirming approach that recognises individual strengths while supporting the challenges that can come with navigating everyday life.

Whether you choose online or face-to-face sessions, my aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to explore your experiences at your own pace. Together we will work to understand what has brought you to therapy, build on your existing strengths and develop practical ways to help you move towards the life you want to live.

About me and my therapy practice

ÌÇÐĹÙÍø

Before becoming a counsellor, I held senior leadership roles within children's services, leading national services in child protection, mental health and family support. This has given me a deep understanding of trauma, attachment, resilience and the lasting impact of early experiences.

Today, I am a Registered ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Counsellor, a registered EMDR Practitioner and a pluralistic therapist. I offer a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where we work together at your pace, tailoring therapy to your individual needs, strengths and goals. I work with adults, young people and older adolescents, both online and face-to-face, and have particular experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including autistic people and those with ADHD.

Trauma is not always the result of major life events. Experiences such as bullying, criticism, harsh or inconsistent parenting, emotional neglect, loss, family conflict or growing up feeling unseen or not good enough can leave lasting emotional wounds. These experiences often shape our conditions of worth—the belief that we must earn love, acceptance or approval—and can lead to deeply held beliefs such as "I'm not good enough," "I don't matter," or "I'm unlovable." These beliefs can underpin anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing and relationship difficulties.

My role is to help you understand where these beliefs came from, recognise the strengths that have helped you survive and gently challenge the patterns that may now be holding you back. Using talking therapy, EMDR and other evidence-based approaches, we will work together to process difficult experiences, build self-compassion and create lasting, meaningful change.

As a pluralistic therapist, I believe there is no single approach that works for everyone. Together, we will find the methods that best suit you, helping you make sense of your experiences, build on your strengths and move towards a more fulfilling and authentic life

Practice description

ÌÇÐĹÙÍø

I offer a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental therapeutic space where you can feel safe to talk openly, make sense of your experiences and work towards meaningful and lasting change. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice, and I believe that feeling heard, understood and accepted is often the first step towards healing.

I am a Registered ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Counsellor, a registered EMDR Practitioner and a pluralistic therapist. This means I tailor therapy to you. Together, we will explore your goals and decide which therapeutic approaches best meet your individual needs.

I provide counselling and EMDR therapy both online and face-to-face, allowing you to choose the format that feels most comfortable and accessible for you. Online EMDR is an effective and well-established way of delivering trauma therapy, enabling you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

I bring a wealth of professional knowledge alongside empathy, warmth and compassion. I work with adults, young people and older adolescents and have particular experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including autistic people and those with ADHD, offering a neurodiversity-affirming approach.

Many people think trauma only results from significant life events. However, experiences such as bullying, harsh or critical parenting, emotional neglect, family conflict, feeling different, growing up without feeling understood or consistently having to put other people's needs before your own can all leave lasting emotional wounds.

Depending on your needs, we may use talking therapy, EMDR or a combination of approaches to help reduce emotional distress, build resilience and support lasting change.

Whether you are seeking help with childhood trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, neurodiversity or simply want to understand yourself better, I will work alongside you at your pace, helping you move towards a more confident, fulfilling and authentic life.

My first session

Choosing the right counsellor is an important decision. I offer a free introductory consultation to give you the opportunity to tell me a little about what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions you may have and find out how I work.

This is a relaxed, informal conversation with no obligation to continue. It gives us both the opportunity to decide whether we feel we are the right fit to work together, as the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy.

During our conversation, I will listen carefully to your experiences, explain how my pluralistic approach and, where appropriate, EMDR therapy may help, and share my initial thoughts about the most effective way forward. I will answer any questions you have about the therapeutic process, what sessions involve, and what you can expect if we decide to work together.

If we choose to continue, we will agree a personalised plan based on your goals, working at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you. Therapy can take place online or face-to-face, and together we will review your progress regularly to ensure the approach continues to meet your needs.
