About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome
If you're here, the chances are that life feels difficult right now. Reaching out for support isn't always easy, so I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to take this first step. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.
It would be a genuine privilege to walk alongside you on your journey. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, accepted and understood. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, with therapy tailored to your individual needs, experiences and goals.
As a qualified counsellor and trauma therapist, I am passionate about helping people heal from the impact of life's challenges and difficult experiences. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and bereavement, low self-esteem, stress, relationship difficulties or a significant life transition, I will support you with kindness, empathy and respect.
I believe that every person has the capacity to heal and grow, even when life feels overwhelming. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your strengths and discover a way forward that feels authentic to you.
Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe enough to explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. Healing doesn't mean forgetting the past; it means learning to live with greater peace, self-compassion and hope for the future.
Whatever you're facing, you are welcome here. Together, we can work towards helping you feel more confident, resilient and able to live the life you want to live.
Practice description
I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, accepted and valued exactly as they are. Life experiences, relationships and difficult events can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, questioning our worth or living according to the expectations of others rather than our own needs and values. Therapy offers an opportunity to gently reconnect with the person you truly are.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I provide a warm, genuine and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, knowing that you will be listened to with empathy, compassion and respect. My role isn't to judge, advise or tell you what you should do, but to understand your unique experiences and help you explore them at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we focus not only on the difficulties you are facing, but on you as a whole person.
Although my foundation is person-centred counselling, I work integratively, which means I can draw on a range of evidence-based approaches when they may be helpful to support your individual needs. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rewind Therapy for trauma, mindfulness, breathwork, Compassionate Inquiry and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Every therapeutic approach is introduced collaboratively and thoughtfully, ensuring that our work together remains tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.
I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting. My hope is that by creating a safe, trusting and supportive environment, you will feel able to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences more deeply. Over time, this can lead to greater self-awareness, self-compassion and lasting change, helping you move towards a life that feels more authentic, fulfilling and true to who you are.
My first session
What can you expect from your first session?
I offer a complimentary introductory session of around 30 minutes, giving us the opportunity to meet in a relaxed and informal way before deciding whether we would like to work together. Finding the right counsellor is an important part of the therapeutic process, so this session is about ensuring that you feel comfortable, heard and able to ask any questions you may have. There is absolutely no obligation to continue afterwards.
During our introductory session, we'll spend some time exploring what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. There is no pressure to tell me your whole story, and we will always work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
I'll also explain how I work, answer any questions you may have about counselling or the therapeutic process, and together we'll consider what you would like to achieve from therapy. If we both feel that we're a good fit, we'll discuss how we might work together moving forward, including the frequency of sessions and the therapeutic approaches that may best support your needs.
Above all, my hope is that you leave our first meeting feeling listened to, accepted and reassured. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, you will be met with warmth, compassion and without judgement.
Therapy is a collaborative journey, and the relationship we build together is one of the most important factors in creating meaningful and lasting change. My aim is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply, develop greater self-compassion and move towards the life you want to live.
