About me and my therapy practice

You don't need to have a clear reason for seeking counselling - whether you're experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, or simply feel that something isn't quite right. Starting can feel like a big step, especially if you're unsure what you need or where to begin. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly about what's been difficult, at your own pace.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and work-related pressures. I also support people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about their direction in life. Therapy can offer space to understand patterns, develop coping strategies, and feel more steady in difficult moments.

My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and attachment-informed approaches. In practice, this means I tailor the work to you rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

My mixed English and Indian heritage has also informed my sensitivity to cultural identity, and the different ways people make sense of their experiences within family and society.

Alongside my practice, I am a published researcher. My paper, Waking the Unconscious, explores the therapeutic potential of lucid dreaming, and is published in the International Journal of Dream Research.

I hold a Master's degree (MSc) in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÌÇÐĹÙÍø 409607). Before training as a counsellor, I volunteered as a listener with the Samaritans, which reinforced the importance of being heard without judgement. I attend regular supervision and maintain ongoing CPD in line with professional standards.

If you're considering counselling and would like to ask a few questions, you're welcome to get in touch. There's no obligation - an initial conversation can simply help you decide your next step.

Practice description

I work with adults presenting with a wide range of difficulties, including abuse, anxiety, bereavement, burnout, depression, family issues, loneliness, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, panic attacks, phobias, race and racial identity, relationship problems, social anxiety, spirituality, stress, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and work-related stress.

Alongside my clinical work, I have also worked in community and project-based roles within the mental health sector, including contributing to trauma-informed initiatives. This has informed my understanding of how personal difficulties are often shaped by wider social and relational contexts.

If you're unsure whether counselling with me would be suitable for your situation, you're welcome to get in touch to discuss this further.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore whether we feel like a good fit to work together. I'll ask about what's brought you to counselling, a little about your history, and what you're hoping to gain from our work. There's no obligation to continue beyond this - it's just as much a chance for you to ask me questions as it is for me to learn more about you.
