About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychodynamic counsellor working in private practice in the North Cotswolds near Moreton-in-Marsh.
Counselling offers a confidential and reflective space to talk through difficulties that may feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to manage alone. It can be helpful to think together with a someone outside of your immediate situation who can help you think about what you are experiencing.
I work in a gentle and curious way, paying attention to emotional experiences and patterns in relationships, and how these may be connected to earlier life experiences. This can help bring a clearer understanding of current difficulties.
I work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, and loss.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained in London with WPF Therapy and in Gloucestershire with Gloucestershire Counselling Service. My training is accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ÌÇÐĹÙÍø) and the BPC and work within their ethical framework, including confidentiality, safety, and professional standards.
I am clinically qualified and experienced in working with adults of all ages.
Practice description
Practice information
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place at the same time each week at my practice rooms in Blockley, near Moreton-in-Marsh (GL56), or online.
This regular structure provides consistency and a reliable space in which the work can develop.
My approach
I am a psychodynamic counsellor, which means I work with both current experiences and the ways earlier life experiences may continue to shape thoughts, feelings, and relationships.
Sessions provide a reflective space to think about what feels difficult, including patterns that may feel repeated or hard to understand. Over time, this can support a clearer sense of emotional experience and how different parts of life may be connected.
I work in a steady, curious way, paying attention to what emerges in the conversation and allowing space for reflection at a natural pace.
Areas I work with
I work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, and loss. I also work with people who identify with neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism, where there may be questions around identity, relationships, or feeling different from others.
My first session
Getting started
Before we begin working together, there is an initial consultation. This is an opportunity to think about what has brought you to counselling and what you might be hoping for from the work.
It is a conversational session where you can talk about what feels important for you, and ask any questions you may have. There is no expectation to talk about anything before you feel ready.
This meeting also allows you to get a sense of how it feels to speak with me, and whether working together feels comfortable for you. The fee for this 50 minute session is £55.
Ongoing sessions
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly at the same time each week. This regular structure provides consistency and a reliable space in which the work can develop.
Therapy may be open-ended, allowing time for reflection over time. The pace of the work is not fixed, and we can regularly think together about how it is going.
The therapeutic space
Counselling provides a confidential space where you can speak freely about what feels difficult. Over time, attention may be given to patterns in relationships, feelings, and experiences, and how these may be understood in new ways.
Professional standards
I adhere to the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions, including regular clinical supervision and a commitment to safe and confidential practice.
