About me and my therapy practice

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting, and finding a space where you feel genuinely seen, safe, and understood is the most important part of that journey. As a psychotherapist, I offer a deeply person-centred, warm, and collaborative environment for adults navigating life’s most complex emotional landscapes.

Being person-centred means that you are always at the heart of our work; I completely honour your unique pace, values, and choices, trusting your inherent capacity for healing. Whether you are struggling to regulate intense emotions, feeling overwhelmed by your responses to stress, or carrying a specific mental health diagnosis, we will work together safely.

My practice is designed for those who want to gently explore their internal world, understand long-standing relational patterns, and find a clearer, more grounded way forward.

My approach is backed by years of deep, specialist experience within the NHS, where I previously served as a Clinical Lead in child and adolescent services (CAMHS) and worked within specialist pathways for complex emotional dysregulation and personality difficulties.

This extensive background gives me a compassionate, trauma-informed understanding of how deeply our early lives shape who we are as adults. I know how exhausting it can be to fight your own feelings, and I am here to help you make sense of them. You do not have to navigate this alone.

To help us see if we feel like a comfortable fit for one another, I offer a complimentary 20-minute telephone consultation. This is a gentle, pressure-free chat where we can discuss how we might work together, alongside practical details like confidentiality, fees, and current availability.

Practice description

Welcome to my practice. I provide a dedicated, warm, and deeply person-centred space for adults and adolescents navigating life’s most complex emotional landscapes. In our work together, your unique voice, pace, and values are always at the heart of the therapeutic journey, honouring your inherent capacity for healing and self-discovery.

What to Expect Therapy with me is a collaborative, gentle, and non-judgmental partnership. I specialize in working with complex emotional needs, supporting individuals who hold specific mental health diagnoses, or those who find themselves struggling to regulate intense emotions, impulses, and responses.

Whether you are looking to gently unpack long-standing relational patterns or find grounded ways to handle overwhelming emotional storms, we will explore your internal processes sensitively and carefully, entirely at a pace that feels safe for you.

My Clinical Framework My approach is anchored in extensive, senior-level clinical experience within the NHS. I have served as a Clinical Lead in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and worked within specialist personality disorder pathways, delivering Structured Clinical Management (SCM) for individuals and groups navigating severe emotional dysregulation.

This background gives me a profound, trauma-informed understanding of how early life difficulties, adolescent struggles—including self-harm and associated distress—and developmental patterns shape who we are.

By recognizing the full worth and unique challenges of these formative years, I am able to offer highly specialized support to both adolescents facing immediate, acute difficulties and adults seeking to understand the root of long-standing emotional patterns.

Next Steps: I offer a complimentary 20-minute telephone consultation. This is a gentle opportunity for us to connect and discuss how we might work together, alongside practical details like confidentiality, cancellation policies, fees, and current availability.

My first session

Your first full session is a gentle, supportive space for us to begin understanding what brings you to therapy and how we can best work together. Because my practice is deeply person-centred, this session is not a rigid clinical interrogation; rather, it is a collaborative, two-way conversation held entirely at your own pace.

What We Will Cover During this initial 50-minute session, we will look at your current challenges, what you are experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our time together. We will explore your history and complex emotional needs sensitively, ensuring you always feel safe and in control of what you choose to share. There is absolutely no pressure to delve into deeply painful topics right away.

Assessment and Preparation To help me understand how to best support you, I will ask you to complete a brief, confidential initial intake form prior to our meeting. During the session, we will also gently talk through an initial assessment together. This is not a "test" you can pass or fail; it is simply a collaborative tool that helps us map out your needs and ensures our therapeutic plan is tailored uniquely to you. We will also formally review our working contract, including confidentiality boundaries and cancellation policies.

There is no obligation to commit to ongoing therapy after this first meeting. It is purely an opportunity for you to experience how it feels to sit in a room with me, so you can decide if you feel safe, comfortable, and ready to move forward together.
