About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you’re not quite sure where to begin. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step and it takes courage. If you’re visiting my profile for the first time, you are very welcome here.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. Perhaps you’re finding it difficult to cope, feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or questioning where you are in life. Life transitions such as bereavement, becoming a parent, or the end of a relationship can bring unexpected emotions, leaving you unsure of how to move forward.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I offer a warm, safe, and supportive space where you can begin to make sense of your experiences. Together, we can explore both the challenges you’re facing now and the deeper patterns that may be shaping how you feel, helping you to reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and develop a greater sense of self-understanding.
My approach is gentle, collaborative, and at your pace. I work in a way that respects where you are right now, without judgement or pressure. As we begin to understand your unique story, you can start to feel more empowered, better able to navigate life’s challenges, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Practice description
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially during times of change such as experiencing a bereavement, loss, or becoming a parent. You might find yourself feeling anxious, low, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward.
I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can gently make sense of your experiences, helping you to feel more grounded, understood, and better equipped to cope both within sessions and in your day-to-day life.
I work with a range of experiences including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, loss, bereavement, and finding your authentic self. I also have experience working with parents of disabled children or those with additional needs. I recognise how complex and isolating any of these experiences can feel, and I aim to meet you with sensitivity and care.
My approach is integrative, which means I adapt how I work to suit you as an individual rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model. Every person’s story is different, and therapy should reflect that.
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including person-centred, attachment-based, CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based, psychodynamic, somatic, Compassion Focused, Narrative and trauma-informed therapies. Where it feels helpful, I may also incorporate creative or faith-informed elements into our work.
Above all, I offer a safe and collaborative relationship where you can begin to feel more like yourself again.
My first session
If you feel I might be a good fit for you, you’re very welcome to get in touch. We can arrange a free 15-minute phone call, giving you the opportunity to share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy at this time, and to ask any questions you may have. This initial conversation also helps us both get a sense of whether we feel comfortable working together.
If you decide to go ahead, we will agree a therapeutic contract, including confidentiality and how we will work together, before arranging a regular day and time for your sessions.
I usually recommend starting with weekly sessions, as this helps to build consistency and support meaningful progress. We can review this together after around 10 sessions and, if it feels appropriate, move to fortnightly sessions depending on your needs and my availability.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and offered on an open-ended basis, meaning there is no fixed limit to the number of sessions. I do also however a fixed block of therapy to focus on a specific challenge or issue. We will regularly review our work together, typically every 6 sessions, to reflect on your progress, ensure therapy is meeting your needs, and adapt our focus where necessary.
I offer sessions either face-to-face in my therapy room in East Belfast or online via Zoom.
