About me and my therapy practice
Our emotions are fundamentally designed to keep us safe, but modern life can leave our nervous systems trapped in a cycle of constant distress. When this happens, it often manifests as overwhelming anxiety, chronic burnout, or a heavy, persistent depression that makes day-to-day life feel exhausting. You might find your relationships feeling strained, or find yourself navigating complex identity issues—feeling disconnected from who you are.
In my practice, I work with the understanding that your mind and body are in constant communication. Sometimes, an anxious thought sends a threat signal down to your body, causing your heart to race. Other times, your body is already holding onto stress and physical exhaustion, sending signals back up to your brain that you are at risk—making it impossible to just "think positively."
Because of this loop, our therapy will look at both angles. Depending on where your distress is originating, we might work on shifting thoughts and gaining deep insight (using psychodynamic and behavioural therapies like DBT), or we might focus on physically calming your nervous system (using body-based, somatic awareness). We tailor the work to exactly what your system needs, helping you move from simply surviving to feeling safely anchored in your life again.
Practice description
Taking the step to start therapy can feel incredibly daunting—whether it’s your very first time or you’ve been in therapy before. It can be hard to put into words exactly what is wrong, especially when you just feel generally overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected.
In our sessions, there is no pressure to have it all figured out. Together, we will explore your experiences, uncover the root of your challenges, and identify meaningful goals at your pace.
To ensure therapy evolves as you do, we will explicitly pause every six weeks to reflect on your progress, review your goals, and collaborate on the plan moving forward. This is your space, completely tailored to your unique needs, designed to help you regain clarity and control.
