About me and my therapy practice
I offer psychotherapy to adults, available on an open-ended or time-limited basis, with sessions usually held weekly.
I provide a supportive, non-judgemental, and confidential space to reflect on your patterns of relating to yourself and others, gain insight into how these patterns developed, and explore avenues for meaningful change.
Therapy can help to address a specific problem or to cultivate greater self-awareness. Working collaboratively, we can make sense of whatever it is that you are going through.
Whether you are seeking therapy to work through particular difficulties or explore unknown parts of yourself, I adopt a tailored approach based on your individual needs.
I have experience working with adults seeking to further their self-understanding and emotional development. In particular, I have supported people working through difficulties related to depression, anxiety, relationships, emotional regulation, addiction, trauma, self-esteem, sexuality, motivation, and career.
My approach to therapy is psychodynamic. In essence, this model is aimed at bringing awareness to lesser-known parts of ourselves, offering an opening towards a greater sense of self-knowledge, integration, and flexibility.
Practice description
Our initial sessions will provide us the opportunity to think together about your reasons for coming to therapy and how we might approach future sessions.
Thereafter, the invitation is for you to speak freely through any thoughts, emotions, behaviours, dreams, and fantasies which come to mind or may be troubling you. I will provide light direction to keep you accountable and feeling supported throughout the process.
Psychotherapy tends to be longer-term and open-ended to make space for deeper change.
We may also decide at the outset that a shorter-term, fixed amount of sessions would be more appropriate. This may be indicated where you are looking to work through a particular life problem or dilemma.
