About me and my therapy practice
When we feel lost, unable to see a way forward, sometimes the wisest thing we can do is stop.
In the room, I find that beneath everything, most people want the same thing: a relationship where they don't have to be someone else to be accepted, where the mask can come off without the crippling shame of judgement. There's a vulnerable space of connection that lives in the silence between the questions. It's something I can't fully explain, but it allows for a kind of magic to happen between and around us. That's where healing happens, not in understanding or diagnosing what went wrong, but in a connection that says: you are of value, and there is meaning in your pain.
Resistance matters as much as acceptance. It tells us something essential about how you've experienced the world, and what you've needed to do to survive it. Our wounds form protective structures around us, and those parts deserve compassion, not judgement. Through acknowledging pain, and through compassionate curiosity about the parts of ourselves shaped to protect us from it, fertile ground for change can emerge. Sometimes, by standing still, we move forward.
As we work together, we may begin to heal the part of ourselves most often damaged by trauma: our intuition, our felt sense of self, the inner knowing that tells us whether a place, or a relationship, is safe. Paradoxically, change doesn't come from force, or from being encouraged to become different. It comes from a deep acceptance of where we are now.
I also offer couples therapy, helping partners understand the patterns in their relationship, improve communication, and navigate challenges together.
If you'd like to meet and see whether working together feels right, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call.
