About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Darcie, it looks as though you are looking for some support. Maybe I can help!
My practice focuses on the relationship between the counsellor and client. I believe there is power in feeling safe in an environment whereby you can truly be yourself and comfortable to explore that which troubles you. To empower positive change in your life.
My counselling style is flexible and client-centered, meaning I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. I focus on understanding your thoughts and feelings from your perspective, helping you work through your challenges at your own pace. The therapy process is often conversational, aimed at fostering self-exploration and personal insight. I respect your autonomy and believe that you are the expert in your own life. Being a person-centered counsellor enables you to take center stage, giving you space to explore and express your true feelings. You are the center of this experience, dive deep into your own world all whilst having the reassurance that someone is there to help you through it.
Practice description
I work with a wide variety of common and some not so common mental health issues and personal struggles. Due to this fact you can feel safe in knowing that whatever it may be which is impacting you, you will not be not be judged, you will be heard and understood.
I have worked with individuals from the ages of 4 into late adulthood. Giving me the experience to understand the world from a variety of different lenses. I continue to work with a diverse range of individuals as I understand that mental health can present itself at any stage of life.
My practice is currently based online via teams. This enables flexibility but still gaining that face-to-face experience to really understand the impact of your current struggles but also so you can see the sincerity and compassion you will receive from myself.
My first session
Our first session, I class as a ‘get to know session’, further to our initial consultation this session will help us to begin our therapeutic relationship and gain a better understanding of each other, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective therapy and helps to create a foundation of which we can build upon. We will discuss the contract and any questions you may have.
In this collaborative relationship, my goal is to empower you to discover your own solutions, develop a stronger sense of self, and move forward in a more balanced and positive direction.
