The next step is to contact me and I understand it’s the hardest and most courageous part of your therapeutic journey. It’s your new start!

You can contact me initially by text or phone. If I’m unable to get to the phone straight away please leave your name and details of how/when I can get in touch. I’m usually able to respond within a few hours.

During our first chat we’ll arrange a time for an assessment via video link (there’s no cost for this). This is also a good time to bring up any queries or concerns you might have. If you decide for any reason you don't want to go ahead, no awkward questions will be asked!

Once you’ve booked, our first session involves some necessary admin and an agreement between us of when and how we’ll work together.

About me and my therapy practice

ÌÇÐĹÙÍø

I offer weekly sessions online or in person, but you may prefer my exclusive 7 night residential retreat at Den by the Stream - this incorporates one cabin, 1 to 1 therapy and nature, a fully immersive therapy experience. Getting away from the distractions of home and work while fully focussing on your own needs can be transformative.

The Den sits in the corner of a meadow bordered by ancient trees with a private stream running by, so you’ll give yourself the best chance possible to achieve your goals.

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist in my 60’s, I bring a wealth of life experience, a commitment to ongoing learning and, I hope, a little wisdom.

I trained with Cruse, the bereavement charity, and for almost 2 years worked as a Bereavement Volunteer alongside my private practice. However, grief and loss isn't limited to bereavement.

We can encounter strong feelings of loss through so many of life's painful and difficult challenges. It may be the loss of identity, youth, trust, confidence or status, through events like divorce, betrayal, rejection, empty-nesting, retirement or redundancy.

I am also a qualified practitioner in the Rewind Technique for the treatment of PTSD, training with (Dr David Muss), the originator, who referred to Rewind as "Closure without Disclosure". This technique is known by practitioners to be highly effective, fast-acting and safe, requiring between 1 and 3 sessions. It has also proved to be equally effective when treating clients online. Without the need to disclose details of the trauma, this technique has been favoured by UK Military, Police and Emergency Services personnel, Ukraine Military personnel and survivors of genocide in Rwanda.

Grief, loss and PTSD can all be treated through weekly sessions online and in-person as well as through Immersive Therapy Retreat.

Practice description

ÌÇÐĹÙÍø

I chose to train in Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy because of its positive, encouraging and holistic nature. Many have never heard of  Adlerian Psychology, but the approach isn't new!  It's been around for over a century, and since that time Adlerian Therapists have been successfully treating clients with the techniques which have more recently become accepted and well known in modern mainstream mental health therapies .

Working together, we focus on developing a deeper understanding of your feelings by exploring your long-held values and beliefs which can stem right back from childhood. We'll discover the resulting behavioural patterns you've adopted over time. I’ll be supporting and encouraging you as you gain insight into why and how you became who you are today. Helping you to set goals, I’ll work alongside you to help you achieve them, leaving you to create who you want to be.

Whether we’re seeing each other weekly in-person, via video link (my West Wales hourly rate may be less than you can find locally!) or while you’re taking advantage of my Immersive Therapy Retreat at Den by the Stream, we will work at a pace you’re comfortable with.

My clients’ ages have ranged from 18 to 78, each with their own specific challenges. A weekly client has kindly written and agreed for me to share their testimonial:

"I was at an all time low, feeling I had no control of anything. I’d spent my whole life being a ‘people pleaser’. Through the course of sessions I had with Linda, I realised, with her help and subtle guidance, that I could change my outlook and my behaviour could change the way I dealt with my perceived problems. By looking at situations from a different angle, being more positive and confident, I’m moving forward and looking towards a fulfilling future."

As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (ÌÇÐĹÙÍø), you can trust that I adhere to high ethical standards and professional practice.
