About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, I am an experienced Counsellor offering an integrative person-centred approach. Sometimes life’s difficulties and challenges can seem overwhelming and you may feel you need support. Counselling can offer this plus an opportunity and space for problems to be addressed. Sessions are client led so you decide what you wish to discuss and the pace you are most comfortable with.
Counselling can be an emotional and difficult process and as your Counsellor my role is not to offer advice or solutions but to listen, empathise and support you in making sense of what is happening.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is key so by exploring issues and difficulties that are affecting you together, the hope is that you will feel empowered to make decisions that offer a positive change.
I have worked with adults who have experienced bereavement and loss, who have appreciated having someone to talk to, offering space to discuss whatever they needed to.
I have also worked with adults with depression, anxiety and others who have experienced trauma including sexual abuse and secondary survivors, living with other’s trauma.
I can offer sessions remotely, online or by phone and home visits.
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, full insurance and I'm registered with the ICO.
Practice description
By regularly working together we can hopefully establish a therapeutic relationship enabling you to find ways of moving forward. By supporting you to increase your self-awareness, this can put you in a stronger position to consider your options towards positive change.
Counselling can be an emotional and difficult process therefore should not be undertaken lightly. Your role is to be as open as possible and to take responsibility for any changes you want to make, by recognising that you are the expert in your own life and determining what your next steps are.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to make that initial connection to see whether what I offer feels like a 'good fit' for you.
If you choose to go ahead, our first session will consist of an initial assessment giving you the opportunity to explain your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. This will also give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
