Availability

I work Tuesday afternoons and evening, and all day Wednesday and Thursday.

I do have some availability at the moment, and would welcome having a free 15-20 minute initial consultation over the telephone to get to know you a bit better, and to give you the opportunity to ask me any questions you have about how I work.

I offer concessions to current counselling students/trainees.

Sessions are 50 minutes and are typically on a weekly basis where you have the same time slot. However, I understand that if you work irregular hours or have work commitments this may not always be possible and I will look to take into account and try to accommodate your needs whenever I can.

About me and my therapy practice

You may be aware of patterns in yourself鈥攕uch as people-pleasing, overthinking, or feeling 鈥渘ot good enough鈥濃攖hat continue to repeat, even when part of you wants things to be different.

At times, this can feel confusing or frustrating, especially if these ways of coping once made sense but now feel limiting or difficult to shift.

I offer a calm, supportive space where we can explore what鈥檚 happening for you at your own pace. Together, we will begin to make sense of how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others. As this understanding develops, many clients begin to feel less overwhelmed, more grounded, and more able to respond with greater awareness and choice.

My approach is relational and trauma-informed. We鈥檒l look at patterns like people-pleasing, withdrawal, or feeling on edge with curiosity鈥攗nderstanding how they developed and whether they are still serving you now. This often helps reduce self-criticism and creates space for meaningful change.

I have additional training in Autism-informed counselling and work in a way that respects different ways of thinking, feeling, and processing, and can offer reasonable adjustments. I am currently training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), which can support the processing of experiences that continue to feel present or unresolved.

During our work together, clients often describe feeling clearer, more in control of their responses, and more confident in themselves and their decisions.

I work with people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, and feeling disconnected from themselves or their needs.

Please know you do not need to have a clear understanding of what is 鈥渨rong鈥 to begin working with me.

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the 糖心官网, working in line with their Ethical Framework and supported by regular supervision.

Practice description

Starting counselling often begins with a sense that something isn鈥檛 quite right, even if it鈥檚 hard to put into words.

Taking that first step can feel like a big one, especially if the patterns you鈥檙e living with have been part of your life for a long time. You鈥檙e very welcome to get in touch to ask questions, share any concerns, or explore whether working together might feel right for you. There鈥檚 no pressure鈥攋ust a chance to begin a conversation, at your own pace.

I offer a free 15鈥20 minute introductory call where we can talk about where you are at and what you might need. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of how I work, so you can decide whether it feels like a good fit before booking a first session.

I aim to offer a flexible and supportive approach, including making reasonable adjustments where helpful. This might include adapting the pace of sessions, offering additional structure, or thinking together about what would help you feel more comfortable and able to engage鈥攑articularly if you are autistic or identify as neurodivergent.

I offer both face-to-face and online sessions, each lasting 50 minutes, from my practice in Tewkesbury town centre. The rooms are private, comfortable, and designed to provide a calm and confidential environment. There is also an accessible ground floor room available for clients with limited mobility.

Appointments are available on the days I work, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and I will do my best to find a time that suits you. All sessions are confidential and guided by professional and ethical standards.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and explore what brings you to counselling. We鈥檒l take time to discuss what you鈥檙e experiencing, what you hope to get from counselling, and how we might work together.

Before the session, you will have completed and emailed me a brief assessment form. You will also receive the counselling contract by email beforehand, so you can look it over before we meet. During the session, we will go through the contract together. Its purpose is to clarify the boundaries of our counselling relationship and make sure you feel fully informed and comfortable with the process.

The session is also an opportunity for you to experience the counselling relationship, set the pace for sharing, and explore your concerns in a supportive and confidential environment. The focus is on understanding your patterns and experiences rather than 鈥渇ixing鈥 anything immediately.
