I am currently welcoming new clients who are 18+ years old.

If you are curious about counselling, and you would like to know more, I offer a free initial consultation where you can ask questions and discuss your reasons for counselling.

My working hours are:

Monday to Friday: 10:00am – 8:00pm


Saturday: 9:00am – 1:00pm


Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm

If your message arrives outside of these times, I will get back to you as soon as I can, the latest, on the next working day.

Session Fees:

The initial consultation is a no cost opportunity to discuss your reasons for counselling, to ask any questions, and to decide counselling is for you. If you decide counselling and my services meet your needs, future sessions can be booked during this time. If you need time to consider, you are welcome to contact me in the future to discuss a suitable day or time to start sessions. ( Subject to availability.)

Sessions

Counselling sessions are weekly, online or via phone, with no commitment to attend a specific number of sessions. They are for 50 minutes and are at a cost of £50.00. Sessions are usually the same day and time each week. If you are a shift worker or have other commitments, I can offer sessions at different weekly time and days. ( subject to availability)

About me and my therapy practice

Sessions 

 My sessions are for those who are struggling with their mental health, need someone to talk to, or need someone independent who offers no judgment, opinion or advice for their reasons for counselling. You are met with empathic understanding as I actively listen and acknowledge your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Your reasons for counselling are seen, heard, and validated. Counselling is here to give you space, time, and opportunity to pause, breathe, and reflect on your reasons for counselling. 

My experience 

I have clients with a wide range of reasons for counselling these can be complex, traumatic, or everyday situations such as work, family or relationships. I have clients who also need an accepting, non-judgmental space to discuss a recent, suspected, or confirmed neurodivergent diagnosis. I also counsel students age 11-16 within a secondary school, needing different levels of support at school and at home. I am also employed as an academic mentor for university students, supporting them to adapt to university life, and collaborate together their schedules, academic work, and supporting their work life balance.

Practice description

I am the founder an owner of Spread Your Wings Therapy. 

I am an online and phone counsellor person centred counsellor. 

I am currently unable to offer sessions face to face. Phone calls can be via a phone of your choice, work, friend, or carer. 

Please ensure you are in a safe space, not driving, and with limited distractions.

 I am also unable to discuss your reasons for counselling and support you safely if you are in a working environment. 

My online sessions are through the secure platform Microsoft Teams. 

You are more than welcome to access this via technology of your choice such as a mobile phone. The advisory’s suggested for phone call appointments also applies. 

My first session

First Session

Our first session will be a chance for you to discuss your reasons for counselling at a comfortable disclosure, and pace of your choice. You may not have the words or full explanation of how you are feeling yet. That is quite common and is more than ok. You can discuss any topic of your choice; it does not have to be soley the reason you came for counselling. Sometimes just talking can uncover certain themes that can be supported in the counselling room, such as self-esteem, self-worth, repeating patterns of behaviour, or struggling to create or sustain personal or professional boundaries. 

My modality is person centred theory. This means I am guided by you in the session. You are in control of how much and how willing you are to share your story. Counselling does not mean tell me everything, it is for you to decide in which area of your life would you like to be supported. There are no goals, expectations, homework, or complicated worksheets. Just a safe, empathic confidential space to be you true self, and to feel seen heard and validated for the unique persona that you are. 

The number of sessions you attend will be your choice, and you are encouraged to be open and honest when you feel you no longer require them. There is no set number of sessions that you are expected or advised to complete. Once you have decided to end sessions it is advised to communicate this as soon as you can, so we can reflect on our sessions together, discuss your progress and your thoughts and feelings of the future. This also ensures that you feel I have met your needs, answered any questions you may ( life after therapy) and close the session with you feeling inner confidence, and empowerment moving forwards.
