About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for support can be a courageous, yet daunting step. I strive to make the process as welcoming and empowering as possible. I aim to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where all emotions are welcome.
As an integrative practitioner, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches. Guided by person-centred principles, I deeply respect your autonomy and self-determination, valuing you as the expert in your own life. Therapy is a collaborative journey, where we work together to explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, creating room for growth and healing.
I work primarily short-term, about 12 sessions, although we can discuss this.
My approach emphasises reflection, not only during sessions but also on what arises between them. I encourage working toward specific goals and agendas, with flexibility to adapt as needed. This structure provides a clear pathway for progress, helping you navigate challenges and achieve meaningful relationships with yourself and healthier, stronger relational connections with others.
Practice description
My role as a counsellor is to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that nurtures self-compassion, curiosity, and openness. Together, we will work to understand how shame, anxiety, or self-criticism may be impacting your life and how these emotions might have developed. Therapy offers a space to gently and safely explore patterns and become aware.
A compassionate relationship with yourself is at the heart of creating meaningful change. When we begin to understand the origins of shame and how it shows up in your life, we can start to loosen its grip. Together, we will explore not only the time we spend in sessions but also what surfaces for you between them. This reflective work is an important part of therapy and can deepen your insights and growth.
Therapy is not just about coping; it’s about changing your relationship with yourself and your emotions, building a foundation for greater stability, authenticity, and life fulfillment. It is a challenging process, but one we navigate together with compassion and care, creating a space where you can truly begin to find a love for all of your parts and your whole self.
My first session
30-Minute Assessment: We begin with a 30-minute initial assessment to understand your needs, narrative, and expectations. This session helps both of us determine if we are a good fit to work together.
Post-Assessment: If both you and I are happy to proceed after the initial assessment, we will formalise our agreement and start therapy within one month.
