About me and my therapy practice

Has life begun to feel like a constant cycle of getting through the day, only to wake up and do it all again?

Does the mind struggle to fully switch off? Do you find yourself overthinking, replaying conversations, worrying about what comes next, or feeling exhausted while your brain keeps going?

Are relationships, work, confidence, boundaries, or the way you feel about yourself starting to suffer? Do you sometimes feel stuck in patterns you do not fully understand, even when you are trying hard to move forward?

I have a particular interest in working with anxiety, trauma, CPTSD, shame, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, ADHD, autism, men’s mental health, addiction, relationship difficulties, and the pressure of trying to keep going.

When these struggles are misunderstood or minimised, it can leave you feeling judged, isolated, or as though you have to keep everything together alone.

Therapy offers a space to slow things down and understand what is happening beneath the surface. Together, we can explore thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships and past experiences to better understand what may be affecting life in the present.

The work may involve making sense of trauma responses, understanding shame and self-criticism, exploring relationship patterns, building emotional awareness, challenging negative beliefs, and developing healthier ways of coping with anxiety, stress, overwhelm or difficult emotions.

Some sessions may focus on talking, reflection and understanding past experiences. Others may include practical tools for anxiety, grounding, emotional regulation, self-compassion, boundaries, communication, or managing overwhelm.

I believe therapy should fit you. I work in a responsive and flexible way, drawing from person-centred therapy, CBT, compassion-focused ideas and psychodynamic thinking, so sessions can be shaped around your individual needs, what you are struggling with, and what feels most helpful.

I hold a BSc Honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and continue to develop my practice through ongoing professional training.

My first session

Your first session is a chance to slow things down and begin making sense of what has been happening. We will talk about what is bringing you to therapy, what you are finding hardest right now, and what you would like to be different. You do not need to have the right words. You can bring whatever you have, and we will work it out together at your pace.

We will also agree how we will work together, including boundaries, confidentiality, and what you can expect from sessions. If it helps, you are welcome to start with a free initial consultation before booking a first session, so you can ask questions and decide whether I am the right therapist for you.
