Counselling for Young People.  Anxiety, Depression, Eating Difficulties & Low Self-Esteem

It can feel like you’re coping on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stuck on the inside. You might be struggling with low mood, anxiety, pressure, overthinking, eating difficulties or the sense you’re not good enough. I offer a calm, confidential space where you don’t need to explain everything perfectly. We can work it out together at your own pace.

I'm Zena, a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor with experience across NHS Counselling for Depression services, trauma and mental health work, secondary school counselling, crisis intervention and bereavement support.

I support young people and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, eating difficulties, self-harm, school or college difficulties, identity struggles and the pressure of managing life while feeling overwhelmed inside.

A significant part of my experience comes from working within busy secondary schools, supporting young people facing anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating difficulties, school refusal, trauma, friendship and family difficulties, neurodivergence and identity exploration. This has given me a depth of understanding of how intense, confusing and isolating this stage of life can feel.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years working as a solicitor while also managing the demands of family life and relationships. As a parent of young adults myself, I also understand how complex and pressurised this stage of life can feel when everything is changing quickly and you’re still finding your place in it.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, online and in-person sessions.

Counselling for Adults and Young People Facing Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Bereavement and Eating Difficulties

Hello, I'm Zena, a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor working with adults, young people and parents.

I support adults and young people struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, disordered eating, bulimia, or the exhaustion that comes from trying to cope while appearing "fine" on the outside.

I also work with parents and carers who feel worried, helpless or unsure how best to support their child, providing understanding, reassurance and support during what is often a difficult, frightening and isolating time.

Therapy can help anyone struggling to understand their emotions better, develop healthier ways of coping and feel more confident in themselves.

My professional experience includes NHS Counselling for Depression services, specialist trauma and mental health services, secondary school counselling, bereavement support, addiction services and crisis intervention work.

From my work within busy secondary schools and my private practice, I have extensive experience supporting young people with anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating difficulties, school refusal, trauma, family difficulties, identity exploration, neurodivergence and the pressures created by academic, social and online expectations.

I understand the challenges young people face and the impact these struggles can have on parents and family relationships.

Before retraining as a therapist, I spent 20 years working as a solicitor while balancing family life, relationships and parenthood. As a parent of young adults myself, I understand both the pressures many adults carry and how painful it can be to watch your child struggle while feeling unsure how to help.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and be yourself. As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to your individual needs, working collaboratively and at a pace that feels safe for you. At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change happens through a trusting therapeutic relationship, where you feel heard, understood and supported.

Counselling for Parents of Struggling Teens & Young Adults. Anxiety, Depression & Eating Difficulties

I'm Zena, a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor.

Watching your child struggle can feel heart-breaking, frightening and deeply isolating.

You may be carrying constant worry, feeling emotionally exhausted, questioning whether you're doing enough, or simply feeling unsure how best to help while trying to manage everything else in your life.

I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly, feel understood and begin to feel less alone in what you're carrying.

I support parents whose teenagers or young adults are experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, eating difficulties, self-harm, school or college difficulties, and wider emotional distress.

When a child is struggling, the impact is often felt across the whole family. Parents frequently tell me they feel helpless, anxious, stretched to their limits, and unsure how best to respond. Therapy provides a space where your own thoughts, feelings and wellbeing can be given the attention they deserve.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years working as a solicitor while also navigating family life, relationships and parenting. As a parent of young adults myself, I understand both the emotional weight parents carry and the difficulty of knowing how best to help when your child is struggling. I understand how easy it can be to put your own needs aside while focusing all your energy on everyone else.

At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change happens through a trusting therapeutic relationship. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, looking for ways to better understand your child's experience, or simply need a space to talk honestly about what family life feels like right now, you will be met with warmth, respect and compassion.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, online and in-person sessions.
