Availability
I currently have availability and work weekdays and sometimes in the evening. I am also flexible to work around your availability.
About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in working with professionals who are struggling with anxiety, overthinking, emotional pressures and relationship challenges.
My clients are often people who are functioning on the outside but carrying a lot on the inside, the kind of people who are good at holding things together until they're not. Maybe it's the anxiety that won't switch off, the self-doubt that undermines your confidence, or the emotional pressure that's slowly wearing you down.
I work in a relational way, which means our sessions are collaborative. I believe the client-therapist relationship is one of the most important factors in therapy. My aim is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and understood.
I also bring a culturally competent approach to my work. Your background, culture, family expectations and lived experience can shape how you experience stress, relationships and mental health and how easy or hard it feels to reach out for help. I actively consider the psychological impact of race and culture as part of our work together, not as an afterthought. I also give space to reflect on faith and spirituality where that's important to you.
Practice description
My approach is integrative. I draw primarily from psychodynamic and attachment-based methods, which means we'll explore how your past experiences, particularly early relationships, may be shaping your present feelings and patterns. I also use person-centred, gestalt, existential, transactional analysis and solution-focused approaches depending on what's most useful for you.
I offer counselling for short-term work and is typically solution-focused, helping you develop strategies for current challenges or life transitions. I also offer longer-term psychotherapy for deeper, long-standing emotional patterns and relational difficulties.
I have worked within NHS Talking Therapies and now run my own private practice, which gives me experience across a wide range of presentations and backgrounds. I hold a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling.
Before training as a counsellor, I had a legal background and spent over 20 years in the social enterprise sector, including a decade as a non-executive director for a financial institution. This gives me a genuine understanding of pressures experienced as a professional and what it's like when work starts to affect everything else.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone or video. This is a chance to talk about what's brought you to therapy, ask any questions and see if we're a good fit. There's no pressure and no commitment.
If after that, we decide to work together, sessions last 50 minutes and cost £65. I offer concessionary rates to trainee counsellors and older adults, subject to availability.
