About me and my therapy practice

I am a Humanistic counsellor working integratively with strong influences from Gestalt and Systemic therapy. My approach is relational, collaborative and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when we feel seen, understood and supported to explore ourselves with compassion.

Gestalt therapy shapes the way I pay attention to the 鈥渉ere-and-now鈥 of your experience: how emotions show up, how you relate to others and how you relate to yourself. Together we explore patterns such as pleasing, withdrawing, overthinking, shutting down or pushing through. These patterns often made sense at one stage of life but become limiting over time. Becoming aware of them can create space for change.

Systemic thinking helps us look at the bigger picture鈥攆amily roles, cultural messages, gender expectations and the stories we inherit. This can reduce shame and self-blame by recognising that many struggles are understandable responses to our environment. It also allows us to explore relationships more deeply, including communication, conflict, intimacy, boundaries and attachment.

My style tends to suit people who are looking for depth and insight, who want to understand themselves and their relationships better, or who are navigating transitions, identity questions or complex family dynamics. Clients often tell me they value the warmth, clarity and thoughtfulness of the space we create together.

Practice description

My approach is relational, compassionate, and collaborative. I work integratively, drawing on:

Humanistic principles, which prioritise your autonomy, lived experience, and emotional truth.

Gestalt therapy, which focuses on what鈥檚 happening for you in the present moment鈥攈ow you feel, what your body tells you, and how your patterns of relating show up in daily life.

Systemic thinking, which helps us explore how your relationships, family dynamics, and wider social or cultural contexts may be shaping your experiences.

You might find that our work includes gently noticing how you鈥檙e feeling in the room, bringing awareness to relational patterns, or exploring creative ways of expression. I believe in working at your pace, and I鈥檒l always check in with you about what feels right.

Clients often come to me when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or confused by their emotions, relationships, or patterns. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what鈥檚 going on beneath the surface, and begin to make different choices. Rather than focusing only on problems or labels, I work with the whole person鈥攜our thoughts, feelings, relationships, body, history, and hopes for the future.

Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, struggling in relationships, or simply wanting space to reflect and grow鈥擨鈥檓 here to walk alongside you.

If you'd like to learn more or book an initial session, please feel free to get in touch. I can also offer a complimentary 15-minute video call to answer your questions.

My first session

My first session is an initial assessment, and I charge 拢50 for 50-minute session.

In our first session we take time to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. I see this as an assessment session, but not in a clinical or pressured way. It鈥檚 an opportunity for you to share at your pace, ask questions, and get a sense of how I work. I鈥檒l invite you to talk about what you鈥檙e hoping for, what feels difficult right now, and what would make therapy feel helpful and safe for you. From there, we can decide together whether we鈥檙e a good fit and how we might continue working.

I offer counselling at a time suitable to my clients. This can be flexible and tailor-made to the needs of my client.

Sessions can be in-person, remote via video call or walk-and-talk therapy in nature. Sessions can be alternated, keeping my clients' needs in mind.

Sessions are usually ongoing weekly meetings which are client-led; frequency can be changed to cater to clients' availability and needs.

In order to attain clarity and goal direction, I provide focused therapy that builds upon therapeutic alliance and in-depth introspection and exploration of ideas and experiences.

About me and my therapy practice

Starting counselling can feel daunting, and it鈥檚 common to wonder whether your concerns are 鈥渟erious enough". I believe that if something is affecting your well-being, it matters and deserves care.

You might feel stuck, finding it difficult to move on, not knowing what's holding you back. I can give you the support and space to pause and reflect on your thoughts and explore the stuckness.

I offer a calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can talk openly at your own pace. My approach is collaborative and client-centred鈥擨 will support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences and in finding ways forward that feel right for you. I use humanistic principles, which are integrative in nature, incorporating person-centred, psychodynamic, systemic, and Gestalt concepts.

I am a 糖心官网, NCPS, and BPS registered and qualified couples and individual counsellor. My qualifications include a BA and MSc degree in psychology, a diploma in Gestalt therapy, and an advanced certificate in systemic counselling with families and couples, with 1300+ hours of counselling experience.

I am of Indian heritage, finding my way in a different culture from my family of origin and bringing with me the lived experience of complexities and cultural expectations that feel alien yet familiar. I understand the internal push and pull that might go on internally.

I acknowledge the impact of intergenerational trauma.

I recognise how cultural expectations and childhood wounds can manifest as maladaptations in adulthood.

I am aware that mental and/or emotional strain can lead to suppression of our needs, lowering of self-worth, and confusion of self-identity.

I provide a safe space, so that counselling empowers you to process experiences that may have left you feeling guilty or not good enough, transforming these thoughts into understanding and self-acceptance.
